וַיָּבִ֜יאוּ אֶת אֲר֣וֹן הָֽאֱלֹהִ֗ים וַיַּצִּ֣יגוּ אֹת֣וֹ בְּת֣וֹךְ הָאֹ֣הֶל אֲשֶׁ֤ר נָֽטָה לוֹ֙ דָּוִ֔יד וַיַּקְרִ֤יבוּ עֹל֣וֹת וּשְׁלָמִ֔ים לִפְנֵ֖י הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃

KJVSo they brought the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it: and they offered burnt sacrifices and peace offerings before God.

And they brought in the ark of God and set it inside the tent that David had pitched for it, and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God.

וַיְכַ֤ל דָּוִיד֙ מֵהַעֲל֣וֹת הָֽעוֹלָ֔ה וְהַשְּׁלָמִ֑ים וַיְבָ֥רֶךְ אֶת הָעָ֖ם בְּשֵׁ֥ם יְהוָֽה׃

KJVAnd when David had made an end of offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD.

And when David had finished offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD

וַיְחַלֵּ֛ק לְכָל אִ֥ישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל מֵאִ֣ישׁ וְעַד אִשָּׁ֑ה לְאִ֣ישׁ כִּכַּ֥ר לֶ֗חֶם וְאֶשְׁפָּ֖ר וַאֲשִׁישָֽׁה׃

KJVAnd he dealt to every one of Israel, both man and woman, to every one a loaf of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine.

and distributed to all Israel, both men and women, to each a loaf of bread, a portion of meat, and a cake of raisins.

וַיִּתֵּ֡ן לִפְנֵ֣י אֲר֣וֹן יְהוָ֣ה מִן הַלְוִיִּ֣ם מְשָׁרְתִ֡ים וּלְהַזְכִּ֡יר וּלְהוֹד֡וֹת וּלְהַלֵּ֣ל לַ֠יהוָה אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

KJVAnd he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, and to record, and to thank and praise the LORD God of Israel:

Then he appointed some of the Levites as ministers before the ark of the LORD, to invoke, to thank, and to praise the LORD, the God of Israel.

אָסָ֤ף הָרֹאשׁ֙ וּמִשְׁנֵ֣הוּ זְכַרְיָ֔ה יְעִיאֵ֤ל וּשְׁמִירָמ֙וֹת֙ וִֽיחִיאֵ֔ל וּמַתִּתְיָ֥ה וֶאֱלִיאָ֖ב וּבְנָיָ֣הוּ וְעֹבֵ֣ד אֱד֑וֹם וִֽיעִיאֵ֔ל בִּכְלֵ֥י נְבָלִ֖ים וּבְכִנֹּר֑וֹת וְאָסָ֖ף בַּמְצִלְתַּ֥יִם מַשְׁמִֽיעַ׃

KJVAsaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obededom: and Jeiel with psalteries and with harps; but Asaph made a sound with cymbals;

Asaph was the chief, and second to him were Zechariah, Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel, who were to play harps and lyres; Asaph was to sound the cymbals,

וּבְנָיָ֤הוּ וְיַחֲזִיאֵל֙ הַכֹּהֲנִ֔ים בַּחֲצֹצְר֖וֹת תָּמִ֑יד לִפְנֵ֖י אֲר֥וֹן בְּרִית הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃

KJVBenaiah also and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.

and Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests were to blow trumpets regularly before the ark of the covenant of God.

בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא אָ֣ז נָתַ֣ן דָּוִיד֮ בָּרֹ֣אשׁ לְהֹד֣וֹת לַ֣יהוָה בְּיַ֣ד אָסָ֥ף וְאֶחָֽיו׃

KJVThen on that day David delivered first this psalm of thanks unto the LORD, by the hand of Asaph and his brethren.

Then on that day David first appointed that thanksgiving be sung to the LORD by Asaph and his brothers.

הוֹד֤וּ לַ֣יהוָה קִרְא֣וּ בִשְׁמ֔וֹ הוֹדִ֥יעוּ בָ֖עַמִּ֑ים עֲלִיל֖וֹתָֽיו׃

KJVGive thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.

Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples!

שִׁ֥ירוּ ל֗וֹ זַמְּר֥וּ ל֑וֹ שִׂ֝֗יחוּ בְּכָל נִפְלְאֹתָֽיו׃

KJVSing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works.

Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!

הִֽתְהַלְל֥וּ בְשֵׁ֥ם קָדְשׁ֑וֹ יִ֝שְׂמַ֗ח לֵ֣ב מְבַקְשֵׁ֣י יְהוָֽה׃

KJVGlory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.

Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice!

דִּרְשׁ֤וּ יְהוָ֣ה וְ֭עֻזּ֑וֹ בַּקְּשׁ֥וּ פָ֝נָ֗יו תָּמִֽיד׃

KJVSeek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.

Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually!

זִכְר֗וּ נִ֫פְלְאֹ֥תָיו אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָ֑שָׂה מֹ֝פְתָ֗יו וּמִשְׁפְּטֵי פִֽיהוּ׃

KJVRemember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles and the judgments he uttered,

13

זֶ֭רַע יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל עַבְדּ֑וֹ בְּנֵ֥י יַ֝עֲקֹ֗ב בְּחִירָֽיו׃

KJVO ye seed of Israel his servant, ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.

O offspring of Israel his servant, children of Jacob, his chosen ones!

14

ה֭וּא יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ בְּכָל הָ֝אָ֗רֶץ מִשְׁפָּטָֽיו׃

KJVHe is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.

15

זִכְר֥וּ לְ֝עוֹלָ֗ם בְּרִית֑וֹ דָּ֝בָ֗ר צִוָּ֥ה לְאֶֽלֶף דּֽוֹר׃

KJVBe ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations;

Remember his covenant forever, the word that he commanded, for a thousand generations,

16

אֲשֶׁ֤ר כָּרַ֥ת אֶת אַ֝בְרָהָ֗ם וּשְׁבוּעָת֣וֹ לְיִשְׂחָֽק׃

KJVEven of the covenant which he made with Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac;

the covenant that he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac,

17

וַיַּעֲמִידֶ֣הָ לְיַעֲקֹ֣ב לְחֹ֑ק לְ֝יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל בְּרִ֣ית עוֹלָֽם׃

KJVAnd hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant,

which he confirmed to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant,

18

לֵאמֹ֗ר לְ֭ךָ אֶתֵּ֣ן אֶת אֶ֣רֶץ כְּנָ֑עַן חֶ֝֗בֶל נַחֲלַ֥תְכֶֽם׃

KJVSaying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance;

saying: To you I will give the land of Canaan as your portion for an inheritance.

19

בִּ֭הְיוֹתְכֶם מְתֵ֣י מִסְפָּ֑ר כִּ֝מְעַ֗ט וְגָרִ֥ים בָּֽהּ׃

KJVWhen ye were but few, even a few, and strangers in it.

When you were few in number, of little account, and sojourners in it,

20

וַ֭יִּתְהַלְּכוּ מִגּ֣וֹי אֶל גּ֑וֹי וּמִמַּמְלָכָ֥ה אֶ֝ל עַ֥ם אַחֵֽר׃

KJVAnd when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people;

wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people,

21

לֹ֣א הִ֭נִּיחַ אָדָ֣ם לְעָשְׁקָ֑ם וַיּ֥וֹכַח עֲ֝לֵיהֶ֗ם מְלָכִֽים׃

KJVHe suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes,

he allowed no one to oppress them; he rebuked kings on their account,

22

אַל תִּגְּע֥וּ בִמְשִׁיחָ֑י וְ֝לִנְבִיאַ֗י אַל תָּרֵֽעוּ׃

KJVSaying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

saying: Touch not my anointed ones, do my prophets no harm!

23

שִׁ֣ירוּ לַ֣יהוָה כָּל הָ֑אָרֶץ בַּשְּׂר֥וּ מִיּ֥וֹם אֶ֝ל י֗וֹם יְשׁוּעָתֽוֹ׃

KJVSing unto the LORD, all the earth; shew forth from day to day his salvation.

Sing to the LORD, all the earth! Tell of his salvation from day to day.

24

סַפְּר֤וּ בַגּוֹיִ֣ם אֶת כְּ֭בוֹדוֹ בְּכָל הָ֝עַמִּ֗ים נִפְלְאֹתָֽיו׃

KJVDeclare his glory among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations.

Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!

25

כִּ֤י גָד֣וֹל יְ֭הוָה וּמְהֻלָּ֣ל מְאֹ֑ד וְ֝נוֹרָ֗א הוּ֣א עַל כָּל אֱלֹהִֽים׃

KJVFor great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.

For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and he is to be held in awe above all gods.

26

כִּ֤י כָּל אֱלֹהֵ֣י הָ֭עַמִּים אֱלִילִ֑ים וַ֝יהוָ֗ה שָׁמַ֥יִם עָשָֽׂה׃

KJVFor all the gods of the people are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.

For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the LORD made the heavens.

27

ה֣וֹד וְ֭הָדָר לְפָנָ֑יו עֹ֥ז וְ֝חֶדְוָ֗ה בִּמְקֹמֽוֹ׃

KJVHonour and majesty are before him: strength and gladness are in his place.

Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his place.

28

הָב֤וּ לַ֣יהוָה מִ֭שְׁפְּחוֹת עַמִּ֑ים הָב֥וּ לַ֝יהוָ֗ה כָּב֥וֹד וָעֹֽז׃

KJVGive unto the LORD, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.

Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength!

29

הָב֣וּ לַ֭יהוָה כְּב֣וֹד שְׁמ֑וֹ שְׂא֣וּ מִנְחָ֗֝ה וּב֣וֹאוּ לְפָנָ֑יו הִשְׁתַּחֲו֥וּ לַ֝יהוָ֗ה בְּהַדְרַת קֹֽדֶשׁ׃

KJVGive unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him! Worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness;

30

חִ֣ילוּ מִ֭לְּפָנָ֣יו כָּל הָ֑אָרֶץ אַף תִּכּ֥וֹן תֵּבֵ֗֝ל בַּ֣ל תִּמּֽוֹט׃

KJVFear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.

tremble before him, all the earth! Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved.

31

יִשְׂמְח֤וּ הַשָּׁמַ֗יִם וְתָגֵ֥ל הָ֫אָ֥רֶץ וְיֹאמְר֥וּ בַגּוֹיִ֗ם יְהוָ֥ה מָלָֽךְ׃

KJVLet the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth.

Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice, and let them say among the nations: The LORD reigns!

32

יִרְעַ֤ם הַיָּ֗ם וּ֭מְלֹאוֹ יַ֣עֲלֹז הַשָּׂדֶ֑ה וְכָל אֲשֶׁר בּֽוֹ׃

KJVLet the sea roar, and the fulness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all that is therein.

Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the field exult, and everything in it!

33

אָ֤ז יְרַנְּנ֣וּ עֲ֭צֵי הַיַּ֑עַר מִ֝לִּפְנֵ֗י יְהוָ֗ה כִּי בָ֣א לִשְׁפּ֣וֹט אֶת הָאָֽרֶץ׃

KJVThen shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth.

Then shall the trees of the forest sing for joy before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth.

34

הוֹד֤וּ לַ֣יהוָה כִּ֣י ט֑וֹב כִּ֖י לְעוֹלָ֣ם חַסְדּֽוֹ׃

KJVO give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!

35

וְאִמְר֗וּ הוֹשִׁ֤יעֵ֙נוּ֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׁעֵ֔נוּ וְקַבְּצֵ֣נוּ וְהַצִּילֵ֔נוּ מִ֥ן הַגּוֹיִ֖ם לְהֹד֣וֹת לְשֵׁ֣ם קָדְשֶׁ֑ךָ לְהִשְׁתַּבֵּ֖חַ בִּתְהִלָּתֶֽךָ׃

KJVAnd say ye, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy praise.

Say also: Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather and deliver us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise.

36

בָּר֤וּךְ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל מִן הָ֝עוֹלָ֗ם וְעַ֥ד הָעֹלָ֗ם וַיֹּאמְרוּ כָל הָעָ֜ם אָמֵ֗ן וְהַלֵּ֥ל לַיהוָֽה׃

KJVBlessed be the LORD God of Israel for ever and ever. And all the people said, Amen, and praised the LORD.

Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! Then all the people said: Amen! and praised the LORD.

37

וַיַּ֤עֲזָב שָׁ֣ם לִפְנֵ֣י אֲר֣וֹן בְּרִ֣ית יְהוָ֡ה לְאָסָ֞ף וּלְאֶחָ֗יו לְשָׁרֵ֤ת לִפְנֵ֣י הָאָרוֹן֙ תָּמִ֔יד לִדְבַ֥ר י֖וֹם בְּיוֹמ֑וֹ׃

KJVSo he left there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD Asaph and his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, as every day's work required:

So David left Asaph and his brothers there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD to minister regularly before the ark as each day required,

38

וְעֹבֵ֤ד אֱד֣וֹם וַאֲחֵיהֶ֣ם שִׁשִּׁים וּשְׁמוֹנָ֑ה וְעֹבֵ֥ד אֱד֛וֹם בֶּן יְדִית֖וּן וְחֹסָ֥ה לְשֹֽׁעֲרִֽים׃

KJVAnd Obededom with their brethren, threescore and eight; Obededom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah to be porters:

and also Obed-edom and his 68 brothers, while Obed-edom, the son of Jeduthun, and Hosah were to be gatekeepers.

39

וְאֵ֤ת צָד֣וֹק הַכֹּהֵ֣ן וְאֶחָ֣יו הַכֹּהֲנִ֡ים לִפְנֵ֡י מִשְׁכַּ֡ן יְהוָ֩ה בַּבָּמָ֨ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּגִבְע֑וֹן׃

KJVAnd Zadok the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the LORD in the high place that was at Gibeon,

And Zadok the priest and his brothers the priests before the tabernacle of the LORD in the high place that was at Gibeon,

40

לְהַעֲל֤וֹת עֹלוֹת֙ לַ֣יהוָ֔ה עַ֛ל מִזְבַּ֥ח הָעֹלָ֖ה תָּמִ֑יד לַבֹּ֣קֶר וְלָעֶ֗רֶב וּלְכָל הַכָּת֛וּב בְּתוֹרַ֥ת יְהוָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוָּ֥ה עַל יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

KJVTo offer burnt offerings unto the LORD upon the altar of the burnt offering continually morning and evening, and to do according to all that is written in the law of the LORD, which he commanded Israel;

to offer burnt offerings to the LORD on the altar of burnt offering regularly morning and evening, to do all that is written in the Law of the LORD that he commanded Israel.

41

וְעִמָּהֶ֗ם הֵימָ֤ן וִֽידוּת֣וּן וּשְׁאָ֣ר הַ֠בְּרוּרִים אֲשֶׁ֨ר נִקְּב֤וּ בְשֵׁמוֹת֙ לְהֹד֣וֹת לַ֔יהוָה כִּ֥י לְעוֹלָ֖ם חַסְדּֽוֹ׃

KJVAnd with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest that were chosen, who were expressed by name, to give thanks to the LORD, because his mercy endureth for ever;

With them were Heman and Jeduthun and the rest of those chosen and expressly named to give thanks to the LORD, for his steadfast love endures forever.

42

וְעִמָּהֶ֗ם הֵימָ֤ן וִֽידוּת֣וּן חֲצֹצְר֗וֹת וּמְצִלְתַּ֛יִם לְמַשְׁמִיעִ֖ים וּכְלֵ֣י שִׁ֣יר הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים וּבְנֵ֥י יְדוּת֖וּן לַשָּֽׁעַר׃

KJVAnd with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should make a sound, and with musical instruments of God. And the sons of Jeduthun were porters.

Heman and Jeduthun had trumpets and cymbals for the music and instruments for sacred song. The sons of Jeduthun were appointed to the gate.

43

וַיֵּלְכ֥וּ כָל הָעָ֖ם אִ֣ישׁ לְבֵית֑וֹ וַיִּסֹּ֣ב דָּוִ֔יד לְבָרֵ֖ךְ אֶת בֵּ֥ית בֵּיתֽוֹ׃

KJVAnd all the people departed every man to his house: and David returned to bless his house.

Then all the people departed each to his house, and David went home to bless his household.
