וּמַלְכַּ֣ת שְׁבָ֡א שָׁמְעָ֡ה אֶ֣ת שֵׁ֣מַע שְׁלֹמֹ֡ה וַתָּב֣וֹא לְ֠נַסּ֠וֹת אֶ֣ת שְׁלֹמֹ֣ה בְחִידוֹת֩ בִּ֨ירוּשָׁלַ֜͏ִם בְּחַ֨יִל כָּ֜בֵד מְאֹ֗ד וּגְמַלִּ֞ים נֹשְׂאִ֤ים בְּשָׂמִים֙ וְזָהָ֣ב לָרֹ֔ב וְאֶ֖בֶן יְקָרָ֑ה וַתָּב֣וֹא אֶ֣ל שְׁלֹמֹ֣ה וַתְּדַבֵּ֣ר עִמּ֣וֹ אֵ֥ת כָּ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָיָ֥ה עִם לְבָבָֽהּ׃

KJVAnd when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great company, and camels that bare spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.

Now when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to Jerusalem to test him with hard questions, having a very great retinue and camels bearing spices and very much gold and precious stones. And when she came to Solomon, she told him all that was on her mind.

וַיַּגֶּד לָ֣הּ שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה אֶ֥ת כָּ֖ל דְּבָרֶ֑יהָ וְלֹא הָיָה֙ דָּבָ֣ר נֶעְלָ֔ם מִשְּׁלֹמֹ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹ֥א הִגִּ֖יד לָֽהּ׃

KJVAnd Solomon told her all her questions: and there was nothing hid from Solomon which he told her not.

And Solomon answered all her questions. There was nothing hidden from Solomon that he could not explain to her.

וַתֵּ֣רֶא מַלְכַּת שְׁבָ֡א אֶ֠ת חָכְמַ֣ת שְׁלֹמֹ֡ה וְהַ֠בַּ֠יִת אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּנָ֑ה׃

KJVAnd when the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,

And when the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built,

וּמַאֲכַ֣ל שֻׁלְחָנ֡וֹ וּמוֹשַׁ֡ב עֲבָדָ֡יו וּמַעֲמַ֣ד מְשָׁרְתָ֡יו וּמַלְבּוּשֵׁיהֶ֡ם וּמַשְׁקָ֡יו וּמַלְבּוּשֵׁיהֶ֡ם וַעֲלִיָּת֣וֹ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יַעֲלֶ֣ה בֵ֣ית יְהוָ֡ה וְלֹ֣א הָ֠יָ֠ה ע֠וֹד בָּ֡הּ רֽוּחַ׃

KJVAnd the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel; his cupbearers also, and their apparel; and his ascent by which he went up into the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her.

the food of his table, the seating of his officials, and the attendance of his servants, and their clothing, his cupbearers, and their clothing, and his burnt offerings that he offered at the house of the LORD, there was no more breath in her.

וַתֹּ֖אמֶר אֶ֣ל הַ֠מֶּ֠לֶךְ אֱמֶ֡ת הַדָּבָ֣ר אֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׁמַ֡עְתִּי בְּ֠אַרְצִ֠י עַ֠ל דְּבָרֶ֡יךָ וְ֠עַל חָכְמָתֶֽךָ׃

KJVAnd she said to the king, It was a true report which I heard in mine own land of thine acts, and of thy wisdom:

And she said to the king: The report was true that I heard in my own land of your words and of your wisdom,

וְלֹֽא הֶאֱמַ֣נְתִּי לִדְבְרֵיהֶ֗ם עַ֤ד אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּ֣אתִי וַתִּרְאֶ֣ינָה עֵינַ֡י וְהִנֵּ֣ה לֹֽא הֻגַּד לִ֠י חֲצִ֡י מַרְבִּ֡ית חָכְמָ֡תֶךָ יָ֠סַפְתָּ֠ עַ֠ל הַ֠שְּׁמוּעָ֡ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׁמָֽעְתִּי׃

KJVHowbeit I believed not their words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the one half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told me: for thou exceedest the fame that I heard.

but I did not believe the reports until I came and my own eyes had seen it. And behold, half the greatness of your wisdom was not told me; you surpass the report that I heard.

אַשְׁרֵ֣י אֲנָשֶׁ֡יךָ וְ֠אַשְׁרֵ֠י עֲבָדֶ֡יךָ אֵ֣לֶּה הָ֠עֹמְדִ֠ים לְ֠פָנֶ֠יךָ תָּמִ֡יד וְשֹׁמְעִ֣ים אֶ֣ת חָכְמָתֶ֑ךָ׃

KJVHappy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom.

Happy are your men, and happy are these your servants, who continually stand before you and hear your wisdom!

יְהִ֣י יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֡יךָ בָּ֠רוּךְ אֲשֶׁ֣ר חָפֵ֣ץ בְּ֠ךָ֠ לְ֠תִתְּךָ֠ עַ֠ל כִּסְאוֹ֡ לְמֶ֣לֶךְ לַ֠יהוָ֠ה אֱלֹהֶ֡יךָ בְּ֠אַהֲבַ֠ת אֱלֹהֶ֡יךָ אֶ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֡ל לְהַ֣עֲמִידוֹ לְעוֹלָ֡ם וַיִּתֶּנְךָ֣ עֲלֵיהֶ֣ם לְ֠מֶ֠לֶךְ לַ֠עֲשׂ֡וֹת מִשְׁפָּ֡ט וּצְדָקָֽה׃

KJVBlessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, to be king for the LORD thy God: because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore made he thee king over them, to do judgment and justice.

Blessed be the LORD your God, who has delighted in you and set you on his throne as king for the LORD your God! Because your God loved Israel and would establish them forever, he has made you king over them, that you may execute justice and righteousness.

וַתִּתֵּ֣ן לַ֠מֶּ֠לֶךְ מֵאָ֡ה וְ֠עֶשְׂרִ֠ים כִּכַּ֡ר זָ֠הָ֠ב וּ֠בְשָׂמִ֡ים לָרֹ֣ב מְאֹ֑ד וְ֠אֶ֠בֶן יְקָרָ֡ה וְלֹ֣א הָ֣יָ֡ה כַּ֠בֹּ֠שֶׂם הַה֡וּא אֲשֶׁ֣ר נָתְנָ֣ה מַלְכַּ֣ת שְׁבָ֡א לַ֠מֶּ֠לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹֽה׃

KJVAnd she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices great abundance, and precious stones: neither was there any such spice as the queen of Sheba gave king Solomon.

Then she gave the king 120 talents of gold, and a very great quantity of spices, and precious stones. There were no spices such as those that the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.

וְגַ֗ם עַבְדֵ֣י חוּרָ֣ם וְ֠עַבְדֵ֠י שְׁלֹמֹ֡ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר הֵבִיאוּ֩ זָהָ֨ב מֵאוֹפִ֜יר הֵ֗בִיאוּ עֲצֵ֤י אַלְגּוּמִּים֙ וְאֶ֣בֶן יְקָרָ֑ה׃

KJVAnd the servants also of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, which brought gold from Ophir, brought algum trees and precious stones.

Moreover, the servants of Hiram and the servants of Solomon, who brought gold from Ophir, brought algum timber and precious stones.

וַיַּ֣עַשׂ הַמֶּ֡לֶךְ אֶ֠ת עֲצֵ֠י הָ֠אַלְגּוּמִּ֡ים מְסִלּ֣וֹת לְ֠בֵ֠ית יְהוָ֡ה וּלְ֠בֵ֠ית הַ֠מֶּ֡לֶךְ וְ֠כִנֹּר֡וֹת וּ֠נְבָלִ֡ים לַ֠שָּׁ֠רִים וְ֠לֹ֡א נִרְא֣וּ כָהֵ֣ם לְ֠פָנִ֡ים בְּ֠אֶרֶץ יְהוּדָֽה׃

KJVAnd the king made of the algum trees terraces to the house of the LORD, and to the king's palace, and harps and psalteries for singers: and there were none such seen before in the land of Judah.

And the king made from the algum timber steps for the house of the LORD and for the king's house, lyres also and harps for the singers. There never was seen the like of them before in the land of Judah.

וְהַ֣מֶּלֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֡ה נָתַ֣ן לְמַלְכַּ֣ת שְׁבָ֡א אֶ֣ת כָּ֠ל חֶמְדָּ֡תָה אֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׁ֠אָ֠לָה מִ֠לְּבַד֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר הֵ֜בִיאָה אֶ֣ל הַ֠מֶּ֠לֶךְ וַתֵּ֣פֶן וַתֵּ֣לֶךְ לְ֠אַרְצָ֡הּ הִ֠יא וַ֠עֲבָדֶֽיהָ׃

KJVAnd king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that which she had brought unto the king. So she turned, and went away to her own land, she and her servants.

And King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all that she desired, whatever she asked besides what she had brought to the king. So she turned and went back to her own land with her servants.

וַיְהִ֗י מִשְׁקַ֤ל הַזָּהָב֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּֽא לִשְׁלֹמֹ֔ה בְּשָׁנָ֖ה אַחַ֑ת שֵׁ֥שׁ מֵא֛וֹת שִׁשִּׁ֥ים וָשֵׁ֖שׁ כִּכַּ֥ר זָהָֽב׃

KJVNow the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and threescore and six talents of gold;

Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was 666 talents of gold,

לְ֠בַד֩ מֵאַנְשֵׁ֨י הַתָּרִ֜ים וְהַסֹּחֲרִ֗ים הֵ֤בִיאוּ וְכָ֣ל מַלְכֵ֣י עֲרַ֡ב וּ֠פַחֲוֹת הָ֠אָרֶץ מְבִיאִ֡ים זָהָ֣ב וָ֠כֶ֠סֶף לִשְׁלֹמֹֽה׃

KJVBeside that which chapmen and merchants brought. And all the kings of Arabia and governors of the country brought gold and silver to Solomon.

וַיַּ֣עַשׂ הַ֠מֶּ֠לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֡ה מָ֠אתַ֠יִם צִנָּ֡ה זָ֠הָ֠ב שָׁח֡וּט שֵׁ֣שׁ מֵ֣אוֹת זָהָ֣ב שָׁח֡וּט יַעֲלֶ֣ה עַ֠ל הַ֠צִּנָּ֡ה הָ֠אֶחָֽת׃

KJVAnd king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of beaten gold went to one target.

King Solomon made 200 large shields of beaten gold; 600 shekels of beaten gold went into each shield.

וּשְׁלֹ֣שׁ מֵ֣אוֹת מָ֠גִנִּ֡ים זָ֠הָ֠ב שָׁח֡וּט שְׁלֹ֣שׁ מֵ֣אוֹת זָהָ֣ב יַעֲלֶ֣ה עַ֠ל הַ֠מָּגֵ֡ן הָ֠אֶחָ֡ד וַיִּ֠תְּנֵ֡ם הַ֠מֶּ֠לֶךְ בֵּ֡ית יַ֠עַר הַ֠לְּבָנֽוֹן׃

KJVAnd three hundred shields made he of beaten gold: three hundred shekels of gold went to one shield. And the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

And he made 300 shields of beaten gold; three hundred shekels of gold went into each shield; and the king put them in the House of the Forest of Lebanon.

וַיַּ֨עַשׂ הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ כִּסֵּ֥א שֵׁ֛ן גָּד֖וֹל וַיְצַפֵּ֥הוּ זָהָ֥ב טָהֽוֹר׃

KJVMoreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.

The king also made a great ivory throne and overlaid it with pure gold.

וְשֵׁ֤שׁ מַעֲלוֹת֙ לַ֠כִּ֠סֵּא וְ֠כֶ֠בֶשׁ בַּ֡זָּהָב לַ֠כִּ֠סֵּה וְ֠יָדוֹת֩ מִ֨זֶּה וּ֜מִזֶּה עַ֗ל מְק֣וֹם הַשֶּׁ֣בֶת וּשְׁנַ֣יִם אֲרָי֡וֹת עֹמְדִ֣ים אֵ֥צֶל הַ֠יָּד֑וֹת׃

KJVAnd there were six steps to the throne, with a footstool of gold, which were fastened to the throne, and stays on each side of the sitting place, and two lions standing by the stays:

The throne had six steps and a footstool of gold, which were attached to the throne, and on each side of the seat were armrests and two lions standing beside the armrests.

וּשְׁנֵ֨י עָשָׂ֜ר אֲרָי֗וֹת עֹמְדִ֛ים שָׁ֖ם עַ֣ל שֵׁ֣שׁ הַמַּעֲלוֹת֑ מִ֣זֶּה וּ֣מִזֶּה לֹֽא נַעֲשָׂ֣ה כֵ֡ן לְ֠כָ֠ל מַמְלָכֽוֹת׃

KJVAnd twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps. There was not the like made in any kingdom.

And twelve lions stood there, one on each end of a step on the six steps. The like of it was never made in any kingdom.

וְכֹ֞ל כְּלֵ֣י מַשְׁקֵ֣ה הַ֠מֶּ֠לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֡ה זָ֠הָ֠ב וְ֠כֹל֩ כְּלֵ֨י בֵ֤ית יַֽעַר הַלְּבָנוֹן֙ זָהָ֣ב סָג֔וּר אֵ֣ין כֶּ֣סֶף לֹ֣א נֶחֱשָׁ֡ב בִּ֠ימֵ֠י שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה לְ֠מָ֠אוּמָֽה׃

KJVAnd all the drinking vessels of king Solomon were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: none were of silver; it was not any thing accounted of in the days of Solomon.

All King Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were of pure gold. Silver was not considered as anything in the days of Solomon.

כִּ֣י אֳנִיּ֣וֹת לַ֠מֶּ֠לֶךְ הֹלְכ֡וֹת תַּרְשִׁ֠ישׁ עִ֠ם עַבְדֵ֡י חוּרָ֠ם אַחַ֡ת לְ֠שָׁלֹ֠שׁ שָׁנִ֡ים תָּ֠בוֹאנָ֠ה אֳנִיּ֡וֹת תַּרְשִׁ֠ישׁ נֹשְׂאֹ֡ות זָ֠הָ֠ב וָ֠כֶ֠סֶף שֶׁנְהַבִּ֡ים וְ֠קוֹפִ֡ים וְתֻכִּיִּֽים׃

KJVFor the king's ships went to Tarshish with the servants of Huram: every three years once came the ships of Tarshish bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

For the king's ships went to Tarshish with the servants of Hiram. Once every three years the ships of Tarshish used to come bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.

וַיִּגְדַּ֣ל הַ֠מֶּ֠לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֡ה מִ֠כֹּ֠ל מַלְכֵ֡י הָ֠אָרֶץ לְ֠עֹשֶׁ֡ר וְ֠חָכְמָֽה׃

KJVAnd king Solomon passed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

Thus King Solomon excelled all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.

וְכָ֣ל מַלְכֵ֡י הָ֠אָ֠רֶץ מְבַקְשִׁ֡ים אֶ֠ת פְּנֵ֡י שְׁלֹמֹ֡ה לִשְׁמֹ֣עַ אֶ֣ת חָכְמָת֑וֹ אֲשֶׁ֨ר נָתַ֣ן הָ֠אֱלֹהִ֡ים בְּלִבּֽוֹ׃

KJVAnd all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, that God had put in his heart.

And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put into his mind.

וְהֵ֤מָּה מְבִיאִים֙ אִ֣ישׁ מִנְחָת֔וֹ כְּלֵ֥י כֶ֛סֶף וּכְלֵ֥י זָהָ֖ב וּשְׂלָמ֑וֹת נֶ֤שֶׁק וּבְשָׂמִים֙ סוּסִ֣ים וּפְרָדִ֔ים דְּבַר שָׁנָ֥ה בְשָׁנָֽה׃

KJVAnd they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and raiment, harness, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.

Every one of them brought his present, articles of silver and gold, garments, myrrh, spices, horses, and mules, so much year by year.

וַיְהִ֤י לִשְׁלֹמֹה֙ אַרְבַּ֣עַת אֲלָפִ֣ים אֻֽרְיוֹת סוּסִ֔ים וּמַרְכָּב֑וֹת וּשְׁנֵים עָשָׂ֥ר אֶ֖לֶף פָּרָשִׁ֑ים וַיַּנִּיחֵ֛ם בְּעָרֵ֥י הָרֶ֖כֶב וְעִם הַ֣מֶּ֑לֶךְ בִּירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃

KJVAnd Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; whom he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

Solomon also had 4,000 stalls for horses and chariots, and 12,000 horsemen, whom he stationed in the chariot cities and with the king in Jerusalem.

וַיְהִ֣י מוֹשֵׁ֣ל בְּ֠כָ֠ל הַ֠מְּלָכִ֡ים מִ֠ן הַ֠נָּהָ֡ר וְעַ֠ד אֶ֠רֶץ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֡ים וְ֠עַד גְּב֡וּל מִצְרָֽיִם׃

KJVAnd he reigned over all the kings from the river even unto the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt.

And he ruled over all the kings from the Euphrates to the land of the Philistines and to the border of Egypt.

וַיִּתֵּ֤ן הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ אֶת הַכֶּ֔סֶף בִּירוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם כָּאֲבָנִ֑ים וְאֵת הָאֲרָזִ֕ים נָתַ֖ן כַּשִּׁקְמִ֑ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר בַּשְּׁפֵלָ֖ה לָרֹֽב׃

KJVAnd the king made silver in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the low plains in abundance.

And the king made silver as common in Jerusalem as stone, and he made cedar as plentiful as the sycamore of the Shephelah.

וּמוֹצִ֣יאִ֣ים לִשְׁלֹמֹ֡ה סוּסִ֡ים מִ֠מִּצְרַ֡יִם וּ֠מִכָּ֠ל הָ֠אֲרָצֽוֹת׃

KJVAnd they brought unto Solomon horses out of Egypt, and out of all lands.

And horses were imported for Solomon from Egypt and from all lands.

וּשְׁאָ֛ר דִּבְרֵ֥י שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה הָרִאשֹׁנִ֣ים וְהָאַחֲרֹנִ֑ים הֲלֹ֣א הֵ֣מָּה כְ֠תוּבִ֠ים עַ֣ל דִּבְרֵ֣י נָתָ֡ן הַ֠נָּבִ֠יא וְ֠עַל נְבוּאַ֡ת אֲחִיָּ֣ה הַשִּׁ֠ילוֹנִ֠י וּ֠בַחֲזוֹת֩ יֶ֨עְדִ֜י הַחֹזֶ֗ה עַל יָרָבְעָ֥ם בֶּן נְבָֽט׃

KJVNow the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer against Jeroboam the son of Nebat?

Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, from first to last, are they not written in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat?

וַיִּמְלֹ֤ךְ שְׁלֹמֹה֙ בִּירוּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם עַ֥ל כָּ֖ל יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אַרְבָּעִ֥ים שָׁנָֽה׃

KJVAnd Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.

וַיִּשְׁכַּ֤ב שְׁלֹמֹה֙ עִם אֲבֹתָ֔יו וַיִּקְבְּר֕וּ אֹת֕וֹ בְּעִ֖יר דָּוִ֣יד אָבִ֑יו וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ רְחַבְעָ֥ם בְּנ֖וֹ תַּחְתָּֽיו׃

KJVAnd Solomon slept with his fathers, and he was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.

And Solomon slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of David his father, and Rehoboam his son reigned in his place.
