חָכְמ֗וֹת בָּנְתָ֣ה בֵיתָ֑הּ חָ֝צְבָ֗ה עַמּוּדֶ֥יהָ שִׁבְעָֽה׃
KJVWisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn her seven pillars.

טָבְחָ֣ה טִבְחָ֣הּ מָסְכָ֣ה יֵינָ֑הּ אַ֝֗ף עָרְכָ֥ה שֻׁלְחָנָֽהּ׃
KJVShe hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.
She has slaughtered her beasts; she has mixed her wine; she has also set her table.

שָׁלְחָ֣ה נַ֭עֲרֹתֶיהָ תִקְרָ֑א עַל גַּ֝פֵּ֗י מְרֹמֵ֥י קָֽרֶת׃
KJVShe hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,
She has sent out her young women to call from the highest places in the town,

מִי פֶ֭תִי יָסֻ֣ר הֵ֑נָּה חֲסַר לֵ֝ב אָמְרָ֥ה לּֽוֹ׃
KJVWhoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
Whoever is simple, let him turn in here! To him who lacks sense she says,

לְכ֣וּ לַחֲמ֣וּ בְלַחֲמִ֑י וּ֝שְׁת֗וּ בְּיַ֣יִן מָסָֽכְתִּי׃
KJVCome, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.
Come, eat of my bread and drink of the wine I have mixed.

עִזְב֣וּ פְ֭תָאיִם וִחְי֑וּ וְאִשְׁר֖וּ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ בִּינָֽה׃
KJVForsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
Leave your simple ways, and live, and walk in the way of insight.

יֹסֵ֣ר לֵ֭ץ לֹקֵ֣חַ ל֣וֹ קָל֑וֹן וּמוֹכִ֥יחַ לְ֝רָשָׁ֗ע מוּמֽוֹ׃
KJVHe that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.
Whoever corrects a scoffer gets himself abuse, and he who reproves a wicked man incurs injury.

אַל תּ֣וֹכַח לֵ֭ץ פֶּן יִשְׂנָאֶ֑ךָּ הוֹכַ֥ח לְ֝חָכָ֗ם וְיֶאֱהָבֶֽךָּ׃
KJVReprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.

תֵּ֣ן לְ֭חָכָם וְיֶחְכַּם עֽ֑וֹד הוֹדַ֥ע לְ֝צַדִּ֗יק וְי֣וֹסֶף לֶֽקַח׃
KJVGive instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.

תְּחִלַּ֣ת חָ֭כְמָה יִרְאַ֣ת יְהוָ֑ה וְדַ֖עַת קְדֹשִׁ֣ים בִּינָֽה׃
KJVThe fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

כִּי בִ֭י יִרְבּ֣וּ יָמֶ֑יךָ וְיוֹסִ֥יפוּ לְ֝ךָ שְׁנ֣וֹת חַיִּֽים׃
KJVFor by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.
For by me your days will be multiplied, and years will be added to your life.

אִם חָ֭כַמְתָּ חָכַ֣מְתָּ לָּ֑ךְ וְלַ֥צְתָּ לְ֝בַדְּךָ֗ תִּשָּֽׂא׃
KJVIf thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
If you are wise, you are wise for yourself; if you scoff, you alone will bear it.

אֵ֣שֶׁת כְּ֭סִילוּת הֹמִיָּ֑ה פְּתַיּ֖וּת וּבַל יָדְעָ֣ה מָּֽה׃
KJVA foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.
The woman Folly is loud; she is seductive and knows nothing.

וְ֭יָשְׁבָה לְפֶ֣תַח בֵּיתָ֑הּ עַל כִּסֵּ֥א מְ֝רֹמֵ֗י קָֽרֶת׃
KJVFor she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
She sits at the door of her house; she takes a seat on the highest places of the town,

לִקְרֹ֥א לְעֹבְרֵי דָ֑רֶךְ הַֽ֝מְיַשְּׁרִ֗ים אֹרְחוֹתָֽם׃
KJVTo call passengers who go right on their ways:
calling to those who pass by, who are going straight on their way,
16
מִי פֶ֭תִי יָסֻ֣ר הֵ֑נָּה וַחֲסַר לֵ֝֗ב וְאָמְרָ֥ה לּֽוֹ׃
KJVWhoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
Whoever is simple, let him turn in here! And to him who lacks sense she says,

מַֽיִם גְּנוּבִ֥ים יִמְתָּ֑קוּ וְלֶ֥חֶם סְ֝תָרִ֗ים יִנְעָֽם׃
KJVStolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.
Stolen water is sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.
18
וְלֹ יָ֭דַע כִּי רְפָאִ֣ים שָׁ֑ם בְּעִמְקֵ֖י שְׁא֣וֹל קְרֻאֶֽיהָ׃
KJVBut he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.
But he does not know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.
