Συνεργοῦντες δὲ καὶ παρακαλοῦμεν μὴ εἰς κενὸν τὴν χάριν τοῦ Θεοῦ δέξασθαι ὑμᾶς-

KJVWe then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.

As God's co-workers we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain.

λέγει γάρ, Καιρῷ δεκτῷ ἐπήκουσά σου, καὶ ἐν ἡμέρᾳ σωτηρίας ἐβοήθησά σοι· ἰδού, νῦν καιρὸς εὐπρόσδεκτος, ἰδού, νῦν ἡμέρα σωτηρίας-

KJV(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

For he says, In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you. I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation.

μηδεμίαν ἐν μηδενὶ διδόντες προσκοπήν, ἵνα μὴ μωμηθῇ ἡ διακονία·

KJVGiving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:

We put no stumbling block in anyone's path, so that our ministry will not be discredited.

ἀλλ' ἐν παντὶ συνιστῶντες ἑαυτοὺς ὡς Θεοῦ διάκονοι, ἐν ὑπομονῇ πολλῇ, ἐν θλίψεσιν, ἐν ἀνάγκαις, ἐν στενοχωρίαις,

KJVBut in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,

Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses;

ἐν πληγαῖς, ἐν φυλακαῖς, ἐν ἀκαταστασίαις, ἐν κόποις, ἐν ἀγρυπνίαις, ἐν νηστείαις,

KJVIn stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;

in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger;

ἐν ἁγνότητι, ἐν γνώσει, ἐν μακροθυμίᾳ, ἐν χρηστότητι, ἐν Πνεύματι ἁγίῳ, ἐν ἀγάπῃ ἀνυποκρίτῳ,

KJVBy pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,

in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love;

ἐν λόγῳ ἀληθείας, ἐν δυνάμει Θεοῦ, διὰ τῶν ὅπλων τῆς δικαιοσύνης τῶν δεξιῶν καὶ ἀριστερῶν,

KJVBy the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left;

διὰ δόξης καὶ ἀτιμίας, διὰ δυσφημίας καὶ εὐφημίας· ὡς πλάνοι καὶ ἀληθεῖς·

KJVBy honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;

through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors;

ὡς ἀγνοούμενοι, καὶ ἐπιγινωσκόμενοι· ὡς ἀποθνῄσκοντες, καὶ ἰδού, ζῶμεν· ὡς παιδευόμενοι, καὶ μὴ θανατούμενοι·

KJVAs unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;

known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed;

ὡς λυπούμενοι, ἀεὶ δὲ χαίροντες· ὡς πτωχοί, πολλοὺς δὲ πλουτίζοντες· ὡς μηδὲν ἔχοντες, καὶ πάντα κατέχοντες.

KJVAs sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.

Τὸ στόμα ἡμῶν ἀνέῳγεν πρὸς ὑμᾶς, Κορίνθιοι, ἡ καρδία ἡμῶν πεπλάτυνται.

KJVO ye Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged.

We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians, and opened wide our hearts to you.

Οὐ στενοχωρεῖσθε ἐν ἡμῖν, στενοχωρεῖσθε δὲ ἐν τοῖς σπλάγχνοις ὑμῶν.

KJVYe are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels.

We are not withholding our affection from you, but you are withholding yours from us.

Τὴν δὲ αὐτὴν ἀντιμισθίαν- ὡς τέκνοις λέγω- πλατύνθητε καὶ ὑμεῖς.

KJVNow for a recompence in the same, (I speak as unto my children,) be ye also enlarged.

As a fair exchange — I speak as to my children — open wide your hearts also.

μὴ γίνεσθε ἑτεροζυγοῦντες ἀπίστοις· τίς γὰρ μετοχὴ δικαιοσύνῃ καὶ ἀνομίᾳ; τίς δὲ κοινωνία φωτὶ πρὸς σκότος;

KJVBe ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

Τίς δὲ συμφώνησις Χριστῷ πρὸς Βελίαρ; Ἢ τίς μερὶς πιστῷ μετὰ ἀπίστου;

KJVAnd what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?

Τίς δὲ συγκατάθεσις ναῷ Θεοῦ μετὰ εἰδώλων; Ὑμεῖς γὰρ ναὸς Θεοῦ ἐστε ζῶντος, καθὼς εἶπεν ὁ Θεὸς ὅτι Ἐνοικήσω ἐν αὐτοῖς, καὶ ἐμπεριπατήσω· καὶ ἔσομαι αὐτῶν Θεός, καὶ αὐτοὶ ἔσονταί μοι λαός.

KJVAnd what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.

Διό, Ἐξέλθετε ἐκ μέσου αὐτῶν καὶ ἀφορίσθητε, λέγει Κύριος, καὶ ἀκαθάρτου μὴ ἅπτεσθε· κἀγὼ εἰσδέξομαι ὑμᾶς,

KJVWherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

Therefore, Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.

καὶ ἔσομαι ὑμῖν εἰς Πατέρα, καὶ ὑμεῖς ἔσεσθέ μοι εἰς υἱοὺς καὶ θυγατέρας, λέγει Κύριος παντοκράτωρ.

KJVAnd will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

And, I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.
