וַיַּבְדֵּ֣ל דָּוִ֡יד וְשָׂרֵ֣י הַ֠צָּבָ֠א לַעֲבֹדָ֗ה לִבְנֵ֤י אָסָף֙ וְהֵימָ֣ן וִֽידוּת֔וּן הַנִּבְּאִ֛ים בְּכִנֹּר֥וֹת בִּנְבָלִ֖ים וּבִמְצִלְתָּ֑יִם וַיְהִ֕י מִסְפָּרָ֥ם אַנְשֵׁ֖י מְלָאכָ֥ה לַעֲבֹדָתָֽם׃

KJVMoreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of the workmen according to their service was:

David and the chiefs of the service also set apart for the service the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who prophesied with lyres, with harps, and with cymbals. The list of those who did the work and of their duties was:

לִבְנֵ֣י אָסָ֗ף זַכּ֤וּר וְיוֹסֵ֙ף וּנְתַנְיָ֣ה וַאֲשַׂרְאֵ֔ל בְּנֵ֣י אָסָ֔ף עַ֥ל יַד אָסָ֖ף הַנִּבָּ֣א עַל יְדֵ֣י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

KJVOf the sons of Asaph; Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph under the hands of Asaph, which prophesied according to the order of the king.

Of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asharelah, sons of Asaph, under the direction of Asaph, who prophesied under the direction of the king.

לִידוּת֗וּן בְּנֵ֣י יְדוּת֣וּן גְּדַ֡לְיָהוּ וּצְרִי֩ וִישַׁעְיָ֨הוּ חֲשַׁבְיָ֤הוּ וּמַתִּתְיָ֙הוּ֙ שִׁשָּׁ֔ה עַל יְדֵ֥י אֲבִיהֶ֖ם יְדוּת֑וּן הַנִּבָּ֤א עַל הַכִּנּ֙וֹר֙ עַל הֹד֣וֹת וְהַלֵּ֣ל לַ֣יהוָֽה׃

KJVOf Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the LORD.

Of Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the direction of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with the lyre in thanksgiving and praise to the LORD.

לְהֵימָ֗ן בְּנֵ֣י הֵימָ֡ן בֻּקִּיָּ֨הוּ מַתַּנְיָ֜הוּ עֻ֠זִּיאֵל שְׁבוּאֵ֨ל וִירִימ֤וֹת חֲנַנְיָה֙ חֲנָנִ֣י אֱלִיאָ֔תָה גִּדַּלְתִּ֤י וְרֹמַמְתִּי֙ עֶ֔זֶר יָשְׁבְּקָ֕שָׁה מַלּ֖וֹתִי הוֹתִ֥יר מַחֲזִיאֽוֹת׃

KJVOf Heman: the sons of Heman; Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamtiezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth:

Of Heman: the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth.

כָּל אֵ֛לֶּה בָּנִ֥ים לְהֵימָ֖ן חֹזֵ֣ה הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ בְּדִבְרֵ֣י הָ֠אֱלֹהִ֠ים לְהָרִ֥ים קֶ֙רֶן֙ וַיִּתֶּ֤ן הָאֱלֹהִים֙ לְהֵימָ֔ן אַרְבָּעָ֥ה עָשָׂ֖ר בָּנִ֥ים וְשָׁלֹ֥שׁ בָּנֽוֹת׃

KJVAll these were the sons of Heman the king's seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

All these were the sons of Heman the king's seer, according to the promise of God to exalt him, for God had given Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

כָּל אֵ֙לֶּה֙ עַ֚ל יְדֵ֣י אֲבִיהֶ֔ם בַּשִּׁ֕יר בֵּ֖ית יְהוָ֑ה בִּמְצִלְתַּ֙יִם֙ בִּנְבָלִ֣ים וּבְכִנֹּר֔וֹת לַעֲבֹדַ֖ת בֵּ֥ית הָאֱלֹהִֽים עַל יְדֵ֣י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

KJVAll these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of the LORD, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king's order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.

All these were under the direction of their father in the music in the house of the LORD with cymbals, harps, and lyres for the service of the house of God. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the order of the king.

וַיְהִ֣י מִסְפָּרָ֗ם עִם אֲחֵיהֶ֧ם מְלֻמְּדֵ֛י שִׁ֥יר לַ֖יהוָ֑ה כָּ֣ל הַמֵּבִ֔ין מָאתַ֖יִם שְׁמוֹנִ֥ים וּשְׁמוֹנָֽה׃

KJVSo the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in the songs of the LORD, even all that were cunning, was two hundred fourscore and eight.

The number of them along with their brothers, who were trained in singing to the LORD, all who were skillful, was 288.

וַיַּפִּ֤ילוּ גּוֹרָלוֹת֙ מִשְׁמֶ֣רֶת לְעֻמַּ֣ת מִשְׁמָ֔רֶת קָטֹ֥ן כְּגָד֖וֹל מֵבִ֥ין עִם תַּלְמִֽיד׃

KJVAnd they cast lots, ward against ward, as well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar.

And they cast lots for their duties, small and great, teacher and pupil alike.

וַיֵּצֵ֤א הַגּוֹרָל֙ הָרִאשׁ֔וֹן לְאָסָ֖ף לְיוֹסֵ֑ף גְּדַלְיָ֣הוּ הַשֵּׁנִ֗י ה֛וּא וְאֶחָ֥יו וּבָנָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

KJVNow the first lot came forth for Asaph to Joseph: the second to Gedaliah, who with his brethren and sons were twelve:

The first lot fell for Asaph to Joseph; the second to Gedaliah, to him and his brothers and his sons, twelve;

הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֧י זַכּ֛וּר בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

KJVThe third to Zaccur, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

the third to Zaccur, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

הָרְבִיעִ֧י לְיִצְרִ֛י בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

KJVThe fourth to Izri, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

the fourth to Izri, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

הַחֲמִישִׁ֧י נְתַנְיָ֛הוּ בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

KJVThe fifth to Nethaniah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

the fifth to Nethaniah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

הַשִּׁשִּׁ֧י בֻקִּיָּ֛הוּ בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

KJVThe sixth to Bukkiah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

the sixth to Bukkiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

הַשְּׁבִיעִ֧י יְשַׂרְאֵ֛לָה בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

KJVThe seventh to Jesharelah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

the seventh to Jesharelah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

הַשְּׁמִינִ֧י יְשַׁעְיָ֛הוּ בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

KJVThe eighth to Jeshaiah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

the eighth to Jeshaiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

הַתְּשִׁיעִ֧י מַתַּנְיָ֛הוּ בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

הָעֲשִׂירִ֧י שִׁמְעִ֛י בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

הָאַחַ֣ד עָשָׂ֡ר עֲזַרְאֵ֛ל בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

הַשְּׁנֵ֣ים עָשָׂ֡ר לַחֲשַׁבְיָ֛ה בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

הַשְּׁלֹשָׁ֣ה עָשָׂ֡ר לְשׁוּבָאֵ֛ל בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

KJVThe thirteenth to Shubael, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

הָאַרְבָּעָ֣ה עָשָׂ֡ר לְמַתִּתְיָ֛הוּ בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

KJVThe fourteenth to Mattithiah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

הַחֲמִשָּׁ֣ה עָשָׂ֡ר לִירֵמ֛וֹת בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

KJVThe fifteenth to Jeremoth, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

the fifteenth to Jerimoth, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

הַשִּׁשָּׁ֣ה עָשָׂ֡ר לַחֲנַנְיָ֛הוּ בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

KJVThe sixteenth to Hananiah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

the sixteenth to Hananiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

הַשִּׁבְעָ֣ה עָשָׂ֡ר לְיָשְׁבְּקָ֛שָׁה בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

KJVThe seventeenth to Joshbekashah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

the seventeenth to Joshbekashah, his sons and his brothers, twelve;

הַשְּׁמוֹנָ֣ה עָשָׂ֡ר לַחֲנָנִ֛י בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

KJVThe eighteenth to Hanani, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

הַתִּשְׁעָ֣ה עָשָׂ֡ר לְמַלּ֛וֹתִי בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

KJVThe nineteenth to Mallothi, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

הָעֶשְׂרִ֧ים לְאֶלִיָּ֛תָה בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

הַשְּׁנַ֣יִם וְעֶשְׂרִ֡ים לְגִדַּ֛לְתִּי בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

KJVThe three and twentieth to Mahazioth, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

הָאַרְבָּעָ֣ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֡ים לְרוֹמַמְתִּ֛י עֶ֖זֶר בָּנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר׃

KJVThe four and twentieth to Romamtiezer, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve.
