לְמַחְלְקוֹת֙ הַשֹּׁ֣עֲרִ֔ים לַקֹּרְחִ֑ים מְשֶׁלֶמְיָ֥הוּ בֶּן קֹרֵ֖א מִן בְּנֵ֥י אָסָֽף׃

KJVConcerning the divisions of the porters: Of the Korhites was Meshelemiah the son of Kore, of the sons of Asaph.

As for the divisions of the gatekeepers: of the Korahites, Meshelemiah the son of Kore, of the sons of Asaph.

וּבְנֵ֣י מְשֶׁלֶמְיָ֔הוּ זְכַרְיָ֥הוּ הַבְּכ֖וֹר יְדִיעֲאֵ֣ל הַשֵּׁנִ֑י זְבַדְיָ֣הוּ הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֗י יַתְנִיאֵ֙ל֙ הָרְבִיעִ֔י׃

KJVAnd the sons of Meshelemiah were, Zechariah the firstborn, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth,

And Meshelemiah had sons: Zechariah the firstborn, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth,

אֵלָ֣ם הַחֲמִישִׁ֔י יְהוֹחָנָ֥ן הַשִּׁשִּׁ֖י אֶלְיֽוֹעֵינַ֥י הַשְּׁבִיעִֽי׃

KJVElam the fifth, Jehohanan the sixth, Elioenai the seventh.

וּבְנֵ֨י עֹבֵ֤ד אֱד֙וֹם֙ שְׁמַעְיָ֣הוּ הַבְּכ֔וֹר יְהוֹזָבָ֥ד הַשֵּׁנִ֖י יוֹאָ֣ח הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֗י וְשָׂכָ֥ר הָרְבִיעִ֖י וּנְתַנְאֵ֥ל הַחֲמִישִֽׁי׃

KJVMoreover the sons of Obededom were, Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, and Sacar the fourth, and Nethaneel the fifth,

And Obed-edom had sons: Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, Sachar the fourth, Nethanel the fifth,

עַמִּיאֵ֤ל הַשִּׁשִּׁי֙ יִשָּׂשכָ֣ר הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י פְּעֻלְּתַ֥י הַשְּׁמִינִ֖י כִּ֥י בֵרַ֛כוֹ אֱלֹהִֽים׃

KJVAmmiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peulthai the eighth: for God blessed him.

Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peullethai the eighth, for God blessed him.

וְלִשְׁמַעְיָ֧הוּ בְנ֛וֹ נוֹלַ֥ד בָּנִ֖ים הַמֹּמְשְׁלִ֣ים לְבֵ֣ית אֲבִיהֶ֑ם כִּ֛י גִּבּ֥וֹרֵי חַ֖יִל הֵֽמָּה׃

KJVAlso unto Shemaiah his son were sons born, that ruled throughout the house of their father: for they were mighty men of valour.

Also to his son Shemaiah were sons born who were rulers in their fathers' houses, for they were men of great ability.

בְּנֵ֨י שְׁמַעְיָ֤הוּ עָתְנִי֙ וּרְפָאֵ֣ל וְעוֹבֵ֔ד אֶלְזָבָ֥ד אֲחָ֖יו בְּנֵ֣י חָ֑יִל אֱלִיה֖וּ וּסְמַכְיָֽהוּ׃

KJVThe sons of Shemaiah; Othni, and Rephael, and Obed, Elzabad, whose brethren were strong men, Elihu, and Semachiah.

The sons of Shemaiah: Othni, Rephael, Obed, and Elzabad, whose brothers were able men — Elihu and Semachiah.

כָּל אֵ֙לֶּה֙ מִבְּנֵ֣י עֹבֵד אֱד֔וֹם הֵ֣מָּה וּבְנֵיהֶ֣ם וַאֲחֵיהֶ֗ם אִ֤ישׁ חַ֙יִל֙ בַּכֹּ֔חַ לָעֲבֹדָ֖ה שִׁשִּׁ֥ים וּשְׁנַ֥יִם מֵֽעֹבֵ֥ד אֱדֽוֹם׃

KJVAll these of the sons of Obededom: they and their sons and their brethren, able men for strength for the service, were threescore and two of Obededom.

All these, of the sons of Obed-edom with their sons and brothers, able men qualified for the service, were 62 of Obed-edom's lineage.

וּמְשֶׁלֶמְיָ֛הוּ בָּנִ֥ים וְאַחִ֖ים שְׁמוֹנָ֥ה עָשָֽׂר׃

KJVAnd Meshelemiah had sons and brethren, strong men, eighteen.

And Meshelemiah had sons and brothers, 18 in all.

וּלְחֹסָ֥ה מִן בְּנֵי מְרָרִ֖י בָּנִ֑ים שִׁמְרִ֤י הָרֹאשׁ֙ כִּ֣י לֹ֤א הָיָה בְכ֙וֹר֙ וַיְשִׂימֵ֣הוּ אָבִ֔יו לְרֹֽאשׁ׃

KJVAlso Hosah, of the children of Merari, had sons; Simri the chief, (for though he was not the firstborn, yet his father made him the chief;)

And Hosah, of the sons of Merari, had sons: Shimri the chief (for though he was not the firstborn, his father made him chief),

חִלְקִיָּ֥הוּ הַשֵּׁנִ֖י טְבַלְיָ֣הוּ הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֑י זְכַרְיָ֣הוּ הָרְבִיעִ֔י כָּל הַבָּנִ֥ים וְאַחִ֛ים לְחֹסָ֖ה שְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה עָשָֽׂר׃

KJVHilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth: all the sons and brethren of Hosah were thirteen.

Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth. All the sons and brothers of Hosah were 13.

לְאֵ֙לֶּה֙ מַחְלְק֣וֹת הַשֹּׁ֔עֲרִים לְרָאשֵׁ֣י הַגְּבָרִ֔ים מִשְׁמָר֖וֹת לְעֻמַּ֣ת אֲחֵיהֶ֑ם לְשָׁרֵ֖ת בְּבֵ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃

KJVAmong these were the divisions of the porters, even among the chief men, having wards one against another, to minister in the house of the LORD.

These divisions of the gatekeepers, corresponding to their chief men, had duties, just as their brothers did, ministering in the house of the LORD.

וַיַּפִּ֨ילוּ גוֹרָל֧וֹת כַּקָּטֹ֛ן כַּגָּד֖וֹל לְבֵ֣ית אֲבוֹתָ֑יו לְשַׁ֖עַר וָשָֽׁעַר׃

KJVAnd they cast lots, as well the small as the great, according to the house of their fathers, for every gate.

And they cast lots by fathers' houses, small and great alike, for their gates.

וַיִּפֹּ֤ל הַגּוֹרָל֙ מִזְרָ֔חָה לְשֶׁלֶמְיָ֑הוּ וּזְכַרְיָ֤הוּ בְנוֹ֙ יוֹעֵ֣ץ בְּשֶׂ֔כֶל הִפִּ֥ילוּ גוֹרָל֖וֹת וַיֵּ֥צֵא גוֹרָל֖וֹ צָפ֥וֹנָה׃

KJVAnd the lot eastward fell to Shelemiah. Then for Zechariah his son, a wise counsellor, they cast lots; and his lot came out northward.

The lot for the east gate fell to Shelemiah. They cast lots also for his son Zechariah, a shrewd counselor, and his lot came out for the north gate.

לְעֹבֵד אֱד֣וֹם הַנֶּ֣גְבָּה וּלְבָנָ֖יו בֵּ֥ית הָאֲסֻפִּֽים׃

KJVTo Obededom southward; and to his sons the house of Asuppim.

To Obed-edom the south gate, with his sons the storeroom.

לְשֻׁפִּ֥ים וּלְחֹסָ֖ה לַמַּעֲרָ֑ב עִם שַׁ֙עַר֙ שַׁלֶּ֔כֶת בַּמְסִלָּ֖ה הָעוֹלָ֑ה מִשְׁמָ֖ר לְעֻמַּ֥ת מִשְׁמָֽר׃

KJVTo Shuppim and Hosah the lot came forth westward, with the gate Shallecheth, by the causeway of the going up, ward against ward.

For Shuppim and Hosah it was to the west, by the gate of Shallecheth on the road that goes up. Guard corresponded to guard.

לַמִּזְרָ֤ח הַלְוִיִּם֙ שִׁשָּׁ֣ה לַיּ֔וֹם לַצָּפ֖וֹן אַרְבָּעָ֣ה לַיּ֑וֹם לַנֶּ֖גֶב אַרְבָּעָ֣ה לַיּ֑וֹם וְלָ֣אֲסֻפִּ֔ים שְׁנַ֖יִם שְׁנָֽיִם׃

KJVSouthward four a day, and toward Asuppim two and two.

On the east were six each day, on the north four each day, on the south four each day, and two and two at the storehouse.

לַפַּרְבָּ֕ר לַמַּעֲרָ֖ב אַרְבָּעָ֣ה לַמְסִלָּ֑ה וּשְׁנַ֖יִם לַפַּרְבָּֽר׃

KJVAt Parbar westward, four at the causeway, and two at Parbar.

And for the colonnade on the west there were four at the road and two at the colonnade.

אֵ֤לֶּה מַחְלְקוֹת֙ הַשֹּׁ֣עֲרִ֔ים לִבְנֵ֥י הַקָּרְחִ֖י וְלִבְנֵ֥י מְרָרִֽי׃

KJVThese are the divisions of the porters among the sons of Kore, and among the sons of Merari.

These were the divisions of the gatekeepers among the Korahites and the sons of Merari.

וְהַלְוִיִּ֖ם אֲחֵיהֶ֑ם עַ֚ל אֹצְר֣וֹת בֵּ֣ית הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים וְעַ֧ל אֹצְר֛וֹת הַקֳּדָשִׁ֖ים׃

KJVAnd of the Levites, Ahijah was over the treasures of the house of God, and over the treasures of the dedicated things.

And of the Levites, Ahijah had charge of the treasuries of the house of God and the treasuries of the dedicated gifts.

בְּנֵ֤י לַעְדָן֙ בְּנֵ֣י הַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּ֔י לְלַעְדָ֖ן רָאשֵׁ֣י הָאָב֑וֹת לְלַעְדָ֥ן הַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּ֖י יְחִיאֵלִֽי׃

KJVAs concerning the sons of Laadan; the sons of the Gershonite Laadan, chief fathers, even of Laadan the Gershonite, were Jehieli.

The sons of Ladan, the sons of the Gershonites belonging to Ladan, the heads of the fathers' houses belonging to Ladan the Gershonite: Jehieli.

בְּנֵ֤י יְחִיאֵלִי֙ זֵתָ֣ם וְיוֹאֵ֔ל אָחִ֖יו עַ֥ל אֹצְר֖וֹת בֵּ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃

KJVThe sons of Jehieli; Zetham, and Joel his brother, which were over the treasures of the house of the LORD.

The sons of Jehieli: Zetham and Joel his brother, over the treasuries of the house of the LORD.

לָֽעַמְרָמִ֤י לַיִּצְהָרִי֙ לַחֶבְרוֹנִ֔י לָעֻזִּֽיאֵלִֽי׃

KJVOf the Amramites, and the Izharites, the Hebronites, and the Uzzielites:

Of the Amramites, the Izharites, the Hebronites, and the Uzzielites,

וּשְׁבוּאֵ֙ל֙ בֶּן גֵּרְשׁ֔וֹם בֶּן מֹשֶׁ֖ה נָגִ֥יד עַֽל הָאֹצָרֽוֹת׃

KJVAnd Shebuel the son of Gershom, the son of Moses, was ruler of the treasures.

Shebuel the son of Gershom, son of Moses, was chief officer in charge of the treasuries.

וְאֶחָ֣יו מֵֽאֱלִיעֶ֗זֶר רְחַבְיָ֙הוּ֙ בְּנ֔וֹ וִישַׁעְיָ֙הוּ֙ בְּנ֔וֹ וְיֹרָ֖ם בְּנ֑וֹ וְזִכְרִ֥י בְנ֑וֹ וּשְׁלֹמִ֖ית בְּנֽוֹ׃

KJVAnd his brethren by Eliezer; Rehabiah his son, and Jeshaiah his son, and Joram his son, and Zichri his son, and Shelomith his son.

His relatives through Eliezer: Rehabiah his son, Jeshaiah his son, Joram his son, Zichri his son, and Shelomoth his son.

ה֥וּא שְׁלֹמִ֖ית וְאֶחָ֑יו עַל כָּל אֹצְרֽוֹת הַקֳּדָשִׁ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר הִקְדִּ֜ישׁ דָּוִ֤יד הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ וְרָאשֵׁ֣י הָאָב֔וֹת וְשָׂרֵ֤י הָאֲלָפִים֙ וְהַמֵּא֔וֹת וְשָׂרֵ֖י הַצָּבָֽא׃

KJVWhich Shelomith and his brethren were over all the treasures of the dedicated things, which David the king, and the chief fathers, the captains over thousands and hundreds, and the captains of the host, had dedicated.

This Shelomoth and his brothers were over all the treasuries of the dedicated gifts that David the king and the heads of the fathers' houses and the officers of the thousands and the hundreds and the commanders of the army had dedicated.

מִן הַמִּלְחָמ֖וֹת וּמִן הַשָּׁלָ֑ל הִקְדִּ֕ישׁוּ לְחַזֵּ֖ק לְבֵ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃

KJVOut of the spoils won in battles did they dedicate to maintain the house of the LORD.

From spoil won in battles they dedicated gifts for the maintenance of the house of the LORD.

וְכֹ֤ל הַמֻּקְדָּשׁ֙ עַל יַד שְׁמוּאֵ֣ל הָרֹאֶ֔ה וְעַל יַ֥ד שָׁא֖וּל בֶּן קִ֑ישׁ וְעַל יַ֥ד אַבְנֵ֛ר בֶּן נֵ֖ר וְעַל יַ֥ד יוֹאָ֖ב בֶּן צְרוּיָ֑ה כֹּ֚ל הַמַּקְדִּ֔ישׁ עַ֥ל יַ֖ד שְׁלֹמִ֥ית וְאֶחָֽיו׃

KJVAnd all that Samuel the seer, and Saul the son of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah, had dedicated; and whosoever had dedicated any thing, it was under the hand of Shelomith, and of his brethren.

Also all that Samuel the seer and Saul the son of Kish and Abner the son of Ner and Joab the son of Zeruiah had dedicated — all dedicated gifts were in the care of Shelomoth and his brothers.

לַיִּצְהָרִ֔י כְּנַנְיָ֥הוּ וּבָנָ֖יו לַמְּלָאכָ֣ה הַחִיצ֑וֹנָה עַל יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לְשֹׁטְרִ֥ים וּלְשֹׁפְטִֽים׃

KJVOf the Izharites, Chenaniah and his sons were for the outward business over Israel, for officers and judges.

Of the Izharites, Chenaniah and his sons were appointed to outside duties for Israel, as officers and judges.

לַחֶבְרוֹנִ֔י חֲשַׁבְיָ֥הוּ וְאֶחָ֖יו בְּנֵ֣י חַ֑יִל אֶ֣לֶף וּשְׁבַ֣ע מֵא֣וֹת עַ֣ל פְּקֻדַּ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל מֵעֵ֗בֶר לַ֠יַּרְדֵּן֠ מַ֣עֲרָבָה לְכֹ֛ל מְלֶ֥אכֶת יְהוָ֖ה וְלַעֲבֹדַ֥ת הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

KJVAnd of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brethren, men of valour, a thousand and seven hundred, were officers among them of Israel on this side Jordan westward in all the business of the LORD, and in the service of the king.

Of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brothers, 1,700 men of ability, had the oversight of Israel west of the Jordan for all the work of the LORD and for the service of the king.

לַחֶבְרוֹנִ֔י יְרִיָּ֖הוּ רֹ֣אשׁ הַחֶבְרוֹנִ֑י לְתֹלְדֹ֤תָיו לְאָבוֹת֙ בִּשְׁנַ֣ת הָאַרְבָּעִ֔ים לְמַלְכ֣וּת דָּוִ֔יד נִדְרְשׁ֔וּ וַיִּמָּצֵ֥א בָהֶ֛ם גִּבּוֹרֵ֥י חַ֖יִל בְּיַעְזֵ֥יר גִּלְעָֽד׃

KJVAmong the Hebronites was Jerijah the chief, even among the Hebronites, according to the generations of his fathers. In the fortieth year of the reign of David they were sought for, and there were found among them mighty men of valour at Jazer of Gilead.

Among the Hebronites, Jerijah was chief of the Hebronites of whatever genealogy or fathers' houses. In the fortieth year of David's reign search was made and men of great ability among them were found at Jazer in Gilead.

וְאֶחָ֗יו בְּנֵ֣י חַ֣יִל אַלְפַּ֣יִם וּשְׁבַ֣ע מֵא֡וֹת רָאשֵׁ֣י הָ֠אָב֠וֹת וַיַּפְקִידֵ֨ם דָּוִ֤יד הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ עַ֚ל הָרְאוּבֵנִ֔י וְהַגָּדִ֕י וַחֲצִ֖י שֵׁ֣בֶט הַמְּנַשֶּׁ֑ה לְכָ֥ל דְּבַ֛ר הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים וּדְבַ֥ר הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

KJVAnd his brethren, men of valour, were two thousand and seven hundred chief fathers, whom king David made rulers over the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, for every matter pertaining to God, and affairs of the king.

His brothers were 2,700 men of ability, heads of fathers' houses, whom King David appointed to have the oversight of the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of the Manassites for everything pertaining to God and for the affairs of the king.
