וַיַּ֥עַן אִיּ֖וֹב וַיֹּאמַֽר׃
KJVBut Job answered and said,
Then Job answered and said:

מֶה עָזַ֖רְתָּ לְלֹא כֹ֑חַ הוֹשַׁ֙עְתָּ֙ זְר֣וֹעַ לֹא עֹ֔ז׃
KJVHow hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength?
How you have helped him who has no power! How you have saved the arm that has no strength!

מַה יָּ֖עַצְתָּ לְלֹ֣א חָכְמָ֑ה וְתוּשִׁיָּ֥ה לָ֝רֹ֗ב הוֹדָֽעְתָּ׃
KJVHow hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is?
How you have counseled him who has no wisdom, and plentifully declared sound knowledge!

אֶת מִ֥י הִגַּ֖דְתָּ מִלִּ֑ין וְנִשְׁמַת מִ֖י יָצְאָ֣ה מִמֶּֽךָּ׃
KJVTo whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?
With whose help have you uttered words, and whose breath has come out from you?

הָ֭רְפָאִים יְחֽוֹלָלוּ מִתַּ֥חַת מַ֗יִם וְשֹׁ֥כְנֵיהֶֽם׃
KJVDead things are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof.
The dead tremble under the waters and their inhabitants.

עָר֣וֹם שְׁ֭אוֹל נֶגְד֑וֹ וְאֵ֥ין כְּ֝ס֗וּת לָֽאֲבַדּֽוֹן׃
KJVHell is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering.
Sheol is naked before God, and Abaddon has no covering.

נֹטֶ֣ה צָפ֣וֹן עַל תֹּ֑הוּ תֹּ֥לֶה אֶ֝֗רֶץ עַל בְּלִי מָֽה׃
KJVHe stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.
He stretches out the north over the void and hangs the earth on nothing.

צֹרֵ֣ר מַ֭יִם בְּעָבָ֑יו וְלֹא נִ֝בְקַ֗ע עָנָ֥ן תַּחְתָּֽם׃
KJVHe bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.
He binds up the waters in his thick clouds, and the cloud is not split open under them.

מְאַחֵ֥ז פְּנֵי כִסֵּ֑א פַּ֝רְשֵׁ֗ז עָלָ֥יו עֲנָנֽוֹ׃
KJVHe holdeth back the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud upon it.
He covers the face of the full moon and spreads over it his cloud.

חֹק כָּתַב עַל פְּנֵי מָ֑יִם עַד תַּכְלִ֖ית אוֹר עִם חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃
KJVHe hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.
He has inscribed a circle on the face of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness.

עַמּוּדֵ֣י שָׁ֭מַיִם יְרוֹפָ֑פוּ וְיִתְמְה֖וּ מִגַּעֲרָתֽוֹ׃
KJVThe pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof.
The pillars of heaven tremble and are astounded at his rebuke.

בְּכֹח֥וֹ רָגַ֥ע הַיָּ֑ם וּ֝בִתְבוּנָת֗וֹ מָ֣חַץ רַֽהַב׃
KJVHe divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud.
By his power he stilled the sea; by his understanding he shattered Rahab.

בְּרוּח֗וֹ שָׁמַ֥יִם שִׁפְרָ֑ה חֹֽלֲלָ֥ה יָ֝ד֗וֹ נָחָ֥שׁ בָּרִֽיחַ׃
KJVBy his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.
By his wind the heavens were made fair; his hand pierced the fleeing serpent.

הֶן אֵ֤לֶּה קְצ֬וֹת דְּרָכָ֗יו וּמַה שֵּׁ֣מֶץ דָּ֭בָר נִשְׁמַע בּ֑וֹ וְרַ֥עַם גְּ֝בוּרוֹתָ֗יו מִ֣י יִתְבּוֹנָֽן׃
KJVLo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?
Behold, these are but the outskirts of his ways, and how small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand?
