הַ֥לְלוּ יָ֨הּ ׀ הוֹד֣וּ לַ֭יהוָה כִּ֣י ט֑וֹב כִּ֖י לְעוֹלָ֣ם חַסְדּֽוֹ׃
KJVPraise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Praise the LORD! Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!

מִ֥י יְמַלֵּ֗ל גְּבוּר֣וֹת יְ֭הוָה יַשְׁמִ֥יעַ כָּל תְּהִלָּתֽוֹ׃
KJVWho can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can shew forth all his praise?
Who can utter the mighty deeds of the LORD, or declare all his praise?

אַ֭שְׁרֵי שֹׁמְרֵ֣י מִשְׁפָּ֑ט עֹשֵׂ֖ה צְדָקָ֣ה בְכָל עֵֽת׃
KJVBlessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.
Blessed are they who observe justice, who do righteousness at all times!

זָכְרֵ֣נִי יְ֭הוָה בִּרְצ֣וֹן עַמֶּ֑ךָ פָּ֘קְדֵ֥נִי בִּ֝ישׁוּעָתֶֽךָ׃
KJVRemember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;
Remember me, O LORD, when you show favor to your people; help me when you save them,

לִרְא֨וֹת ׀ בְּטוֹבַ֣ת בְּחִירֶ֑יךָ לִ֝שְׂמֹ֗חַ בְּשִׂמְחַ֥ת גּוֹיֶֽךָ לְהִ֝תְהַלֵּ֗ל עִ֣ם נַחֲלָתֶֽךָ׃
KJVThat I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.
that I may look upon the prosperity of your chosen ones, that I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation, that I may glory with your inheritance.

חָטָ֥אנוּ עִם אֲבוֹתֵ֑ינוּ הֶעֱוִ֥ינוּ הִ֝רְשָֽׁעְנוּ׃
KJVWe have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.
Both we and our fathers have sinned; we have committed iniquity; we have done wickedness.

אֲבוֹתֵ֤ינוּ בְמִצְרַ֗יִם לֹֽא הִשְׂכִּ֥ילוּ נִפְלְאוֹתֶ֑יךָ לֹ֤א זָכְרוּ֮ אֶת רֹ֪ב חֲסָדֶ֫יךָ וַיַּמְרוּ עַל יָ֣ם בְּיַם סֽוּף׃
KJVOur fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.
Our fathers, when they were in Egypt, did not consider your wondrous works; they did not remember the abundance of your steadfast love, but rebelled by the sea, at the Red Sea.

וַיּ֣וֹשִׁיעֵ֣ם לְמַ֣עַן שְׁמ֑וֹ לְ֝הוֹדִ֗יעַ אֶת גְּבוּרָתֽוֹ׃
KJVNevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.
Yet he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make known his mighty power.

וַיִּגְעַ֣ר בְּיַם ס֣וּף וַיֶּחֱרָ֑ב וַיּ֘וֹלִיכֵ֥ם בַּ֝תְּהֹמ֗וֹת כַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃
KJVHe rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.
He rebuked the Red Sea, and it became dry, and he led them through the deep as through a desert.

וַיּ֘וֹשִׁיעֵ֤ם מִיַּ֣ד שׂוֹנֵ֑א וַ֝יִּגְאָלֵ֗ם מִיַּ֥ד אוֹיֵֽב׃
KJVAnd he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
So he saved them from the hand of the foe and redeemed them from the power of the enemy.

וַיְכַסּ֣וּ מַ֣יִם צָרֵיהֶ֑ם אֶחָ֥ד מֵ֝הֶ֗ם לֹ֣א נוֹתָֽר׃
KJVAnd the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.
And the waters covered their adversaries; not one of them was left.

וַיַּ֥אֲמִינוּ בִדְבָרָ֑יו יָשִׁ֥ירוּ תְּהִלָּתֽוֹ׃
KJVThen believed they his words; they sang his praise.
Then they believed his words; they sang his praise.

מִ֭הֲרוּ שָׁכְח֣וּ מַעֲשָׂ֑יו לֹא חִ֝כּ֗וּ לַעֲצָתֽוֹ׃
KJVThey soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:
But they soon forgot his works; they did not wait for his counsel.

וַיִּתְאַוּ֣וּ תַאֲוָ֣ה בַמִּדְבָּ֑ר וַיְנַסּ֥וּ אֵ֝ל בִּישִׁימֽוֹן׃
KJVBut lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.
But they had a wanton craving in the wilderness, and put God to the test in the desert;
15
וַיִּתֵּ֣ן לָ֭הֶם שְׁאֱלָתָ֑ם וַ֝יְשַׁלַּ֗ח רָז֥וֹן בְּנַפְשָֽׁם׃
KJVAnd he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.
he gave them what they asked, but sent a wasting disease among them.
16
וַיְקַנְאוּ לְ֭מֹשֶׁה בַּמַּחֲנֶ֑ה לְ֝אַהֲרֹ֗ן קְד֣וֹשׁ יְהוָֽה׃
KJVThey envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the LORD.
When men in the camp were jealous of Moses and Aaron, the holy one of the LORD,
17
תִּפְתַּח אֶ֭רֶץ וַתִּבְלַ֣ע דָּתָ֑ן וַ֝תְּכַ֗ס עַל עֲדַ֥ת אֲבִירָֽם׃
KJVThe earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.

וַתִּבְעַר אֵ֥שׁ בַּעֲדָתָ֑ם לֶ֝הָבָ֗ה תְּלַהֵ֥ט רְשָׁעִֽים׃
KJVAnd a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.
Fire also broke out in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.

יַעֲשׂ֣וּ עֵ֭גֶל בְּחֹרֵ֑ב וַיִּשְׁתַּחֲו֥וּ לְמַסֵּכָֽה׃
KJVThey made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.
They made a calf in Horeb and worshiped a metal image.
20
וַיָּמִ֥ירוּ אֶת כְּבוֹדָ֑ם בְּתַבְנִ֥ית שׁ֝֗וֹר אֹכֵ֥ל עֵֽשֶׂב׃
KJVThus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.
They exchanged the glory of God for the image of an ox that eats grass.

שָׁ֭כְחוּ אֵ֣ל מוֹשִׁיעָ֑ם עֹשֶׂ֥ה גְ֝דֹל֗וֹת בְּמִצְרָֽיִם׃
KJVThey forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;
They forgot God, their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt,
22
נִ֭פְלָאוֹת בְּאֶ֣רֶץ חָ֑ם נוֹרָא֥וֹת עַֽל יַם סֽוּף׃
KJVWondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.
wondrous works in the land of Ham, and awesome deeds by the Red Sea.

וַיֹּ֗אמֶר לְ֭הַשְׁמִידָם לוּלֵ֨י ׀ מֹשֶׁ֣ה בְחִיר֗וֹ עָמַד בַּפֶּ֬רֶץ לְ֭פָנָיו לְהָשִׁ֥יב חֲמָת֗וֹ מֵהַשְׁחִֽית׃
KJVTherefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.
Therefore he said he would destroy them — had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him, to turn away his wrath from destroying them.

וַיִּמְאֲס֗וּ בְּ֫אֶ֥רֶץ חֶמְדָּ֑ה לֹֽא הֶ֝אֱמִ֗ינוּ לִדְבָרֽוֹ׃
KJVYea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:
Then they despised the pleasant land, having no faith in his promise.

וַיֵּרָגְנ֥וּ בְאָֽהֳלֵיהֶ֑ם לֹ֥א שָׁ֝מְע֗וּ בְּק֣וֹל יְהוָֽה׃
KJVBut murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD.
They murmured in their tents, and did not obey the voice of the LORD.
26
וַיִּשָּׂ֣א יָד֣וֹ לָהֶ֑ם לְהַפִּ֖יל אוֹתָ֣ם בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃
KJVTherefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:
Therefore he raised his hand and swore to them that he would make them fall in the wilderness,
27
וּלְהַפִּ֣יל זַרְעָ֣ם בַּגּוֹיִ֑ם וּ֝לְזָרוֹתָ֗ם בָּאֲרָצֽוֹת׃
KJVTo overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.
and would scatter their offspring among the nations, dispersing them among the lands.
28
וַיִּצָּ֣מְדוּ לְבַ֣עַל פְּע֑וֹר וַ֝יֹּאכְל֗וּ זִבְחֵ֥י מֵתִֽים׃
KJVThey joined themselves also unto Baal-peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.
Then they yoked themselves to the Baal of Peor, and ate sacrifices offered to the dead;
29
וַיַּכְעִ֥יסוּ בְּמַעַלְלֵיהֶ֑ם וַתִּפְרָץ בָּ֝֗ם מַגֵּפָֽה׃
KJVThus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.
they provoked the LORD to anger with their deeds, and a plague broke out among them.
30
וַיַּ֘עֲמֹ֤ד פִּינְחָ֗ס וַיְפַלֵּ֑ל וַתֵּ֝עָצַ֗ר הַמַּגֵּפָֽה׃
KJVThen stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed.
Then Phinehas stood up and intervened, and the plague was stayed.
31
וַתֵּחָשֶׁ֣ב ל֭וֹ לִצְדָקָ֑ה לְדֹ֥ר וָ֝דֹ֗ר עַד עוֹלָֽם׃
KJVAnd that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.
And that was counted to him as righteousness from generation to generation forever.
32
וַיַּקְצִ֗יפוּ עַל מֵ֫י מְרִיבָ֥ה וַיֵּ֣רַע לְ֭מֹשֶׁה בַּעֲבוּרָֽם׃
KJVThey angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:
They angered him at the waters of Meribah, and it went ill with Moses on their account,
33
כִּֽי הִמְר֣וּ אֶת ר֭וּחוֹ וַיְבַטֵּ֥א בִּשְׂפָתָֽיו׃
KJVBecause they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.
for they made his spirit bitter, and he spoke rashly with his lips.
34
לֹ֥א הִשְׁמִ֗ידוּ אֶת הָ֫עַמִּ֥ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָ֭מַר יְהוָ֥ה לָהֶֽם׃
KJVThey did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:
They did not destroy the peoples, as the LORD commanded them,
35
וַיִּתְעָרְב֥וּ בַגּוֹיִ֑ם וַ֝יִּלְמְד֗וּ מַעֲשֵׂיהֶֽם׃
KJVBut were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.
but they mixed with the nations and learned to do as they did.
36
וַיַּעַבְד֥וּ אֶת עֲצַבֵּיהֶ֑ם וַ֝יִּהְי֗וּ לָהֶ֥ם לְמוֹקֵֽשׁ׃
KJVAnd they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.
They served their idols, which became a snare to them.
37
וַיִּזְבְּח֡וּ אֶת בְּנֵיהֶ֣ם וְ֭אֶת בְּנוֹתֵיהֶ֣ם לַשֵּׁדִ֑ים׃
KJVYea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,
They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons;
38
וַיִּשְׁפְּכ֬וּ דָ֨ם נָקִ֗י דַּ֣ם בְּנֵ֣יהֶם וּבְנֽוֹתֵיהֶ֑ם אֲשֶׁ֤ר זִבְּח֣וּ לַעֲצַבֵּ֣י כְנָ֑עַן וַתֶּחֱנַ֗ף הָ֝אָ֗רֶץ בַּדָּמִֽים׃
KJVAnd shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.

39
וַיִּטְמְא֥וּ בְמַעֲשֵׂיהֶ֑ם וַ֝יִּזְנ֗וּ בְּמַעַלְלֵיהֶֽם׃
KJVThus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.
Thus they became unclean by their acts, and played the whore in their deeds.
40
וַיִּחַר אַ֣ף יְהוָ֣ה בְּעַמּ֑וֹ וַ֝יְתָעֵ֗ב אֶת נַחֲלָתֽוֹ׃
KJVTherefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.
Then the anger of the LORD was kindled against his people, and he abhorred his heritage;
41
וַיִּתְּנֵ֣ם בְּיַד גּ֭וֹיִם וַיִּמְשְׁל֣וּ בָ֣הֶם שֹׂנְאֵיהֶ֑ם׃
KJVAnd he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.
he gave them into the hand of the nations, so that those who hated them ruled over them.
42
וַיִּלְחָצ֥וּם אוֹיְבֵיהֶ֑ם וַ֝יִּכָּנְע֗וּ תַּ֣חַת יָדָֽם׃
KJVTheir enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.
Their enemies oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their power.
43
פְּעָמִ֣ים רַ֭בּוֹת יַצִּילֵ֑ם וְ֝הֵ֗מָּה יַמְר֥וּ בַעֲצָתָ֗ם וַיָּמֹ֥כּוּ בַּעֲוֹנָֽם׃
KJVMany times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.
Many times he delivered them, but they were rebellious in their purposes and were brought low through their iniquity.
44
וַיַּ֥רְא בַּצַּ֥ר לָ֑הֶם בְּ֝שָׁמְע֗וֹ אֶת רִנָּתָֽם׃
KJVNevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:
Nevertheless, he looked upon their distress, when he heard their cry.
45
וַיִּזְכֹּ֣ר לָ֭הֶם בְּרִית֑וֹ וַיִּנָּחֵ֖ם כְּרֹ֣ב חֲסָדָֽיו׃
KJVAnd he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.
For their sake he remembered his covenant, and relented according to the abundance of his steadfast love.
46
וַיִּתֵּ֣ן אוֹתָ֣ם לְרַחֲמִ֑ים לִ֝פְנֵ֗י כָּל שׁוֹבֵיהֶֽם׃
KJVHe made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.
He caused them to be pitied by all those who held them captive.
47
הוֹשִׁיעֵ֨נוּ ׀ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ וְקַבְּצֵ֥נוּ מִן הַגּוֹיִ֑ם לְהֹד֗֝וֹת לְשֵׁ֣ם קָדְשֶׁ֣ךָ לְהִשְׁתַּבֵּ֥חַ בִּתְהִלָּתֶֽךָ׃
KJVSave us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.
Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise.
48
בָּר֤וּךְ יְהוָ֣ה אֱ֭לֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל מִן הָ֘עוֹלָ֤ם וְעַ֥ד הָ֝עוֹלָ֗ם וְאָמַ֤ר כָּל הָעָ֬ם אָמֵ֗ן הַ֝לְלוּ יָֽהּ׃
KJVBlessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.
Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! And let all the people say: Amen! Praise the LORD!
