שִׁ֗יר הַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת אֶל יְהוָ֗ה בַּצָּ֥תָה לִ֗י קָרָ֥אתִי וַיַּעֲנֵֽנִי׃

KJVA Song of degrees. In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me.

A Song of Ascents. In my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me.

יְהוָ֗ה הַצִּ֣ילָה נַ֭פְשִׁי מִשְּׂפַ֣ת שֶׁ֑קֶר מִלָּשׁ֥וֹן רְמִיָּֽה׃

KJVDeliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.

Deliver me, O LORD, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.

מַה יִּתֵּ֣ן לְ֭ךָ וּמַה יֹּסִ֥יף לָ֗ךְ לָשׁ֥וֹן רְמִיָּֽה׃

KJVWhat shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?

What shall be given to you, and what more shall be done to you, you deceitful tongue?

חִצֵּ֣י גִ֭בּוֹר שְׁנוּנִ֑ים עִ֝֗ם גַּחֲלֵ֥י רְתָמִֽים׃

KJVSharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

A warrior's sharp arrows, with glowing coals of the broom tree!

אֽוֹיָה לִ֭י כִּי גַ֣רְתִּי מֶ֑שֶׁךְ שָׁ֝כַ֗נְתִּי עִם אָהֳלֵ֥י קֵדָֽר׃

KJVWoe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar!

Woe to me, that I sojourn in Meshech, that I dwell among the tents of Kedar!

רַ֭בַּת שָׁכְנָ֣ה לָּ֑הּ נַ֝פְשִׁ֗י עִ֤ם שׂוֹנֵ֬א שָׁלֽוֹם׃

KJVMy soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.

Too long have I had my dwelling among those who hate peace.

אֲנִי שָׁל֑וֹם וְכִ֥י אֲ֝דַבֵּ֗ר הֵ֣מָּה לַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃

KJVI am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.

I am for peace, but when I speak, they are for war!
