לַמְנַצֵּ֗חַ מִזְמ֥וֹר לְדָוִ֑ד׃ בְּב֣וֹא אֵ֭לָיו נָתָ֣ן הַנָּבִ֑יא כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּ֝א אֶל בַּת שָֽׁבַע׃

KJVTo the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.

חָנֵּ֥נִי אֱלֹהִ֗ים כְּחַסְדֶּ֫ךָ כְּרֹ֥ב רַחֲמֶ֗יךָ מְחֵ֥ה פְשָׁעָֽי׃

KJVHave mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.

הֶ֣רֶב כַּ֭בְּסֵנִי מֵעֲוֹנִ֑י וּ֝מֵחַטָּאתִ֗י טַהֲרֵֽנִי׃

KJVWash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin!

כִּ֣י פְ֭שָׁעַי אֲנִ֣י אֵדָ֑ע וְחַטָּאתִ֗י נֶגְדִּ֗י תָמִֽיד׃

KJVFor I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me.

לְךָ֣ לְ֭בַדְּךָ חָטָ֑אתִי וְהָרַ֥ע בְּ֝עֵינֶ֗יךָ עָשִׂ֑יתִי לְמַ֥עַן תִּצְדַּ֥ק בְּדָבְרֶ֗ךָ תִּזְכֶּ֗ה בְשָׁפְטֶֽךָ׃

KJVAgainst thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment.

הֵן בְּעָו֥וֹן חוֹלָ֑לְתִּי וּ֝בְחֵ֗טְא יֶחֱמַ֥תְנִי אִמִּֽי׃

KJVBehold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.

הֵן אֱמֶ֗ת חָפַ֣צְתָּ בַטֻּח֑וֹת וּ֝בְסָתֻ֗ם חָכְמָ֥ה תוֹדִיעֵֽנִי׃

KJVBehold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.

תְּחַטְּאֵ֣נִי בְ֭אֵזוֹב וְאֶטְהָ֑ר תְּ֝כַבְּסֵ֗נִי וּמִשֶּׁ֥לֶג אַלְבִּֽין׃

KJVPurge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

תַּשְׁמִיעֵ֗נִי שָׂשׂ֥וֹן וְשִׂמְחָ֑ה תָּ֝גֵ֗לְנָה עֲצָמ֥וֹת דִּכִּֽיתָ׃

KJVMake me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.

Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have broken rejoice.

הַסְתֵּ֣ר פָּנֶ֣יךָ מֵחֲטָאָ֑י וְכָל עֲוֹנֹתַ֗י מְחֵֽה׃

KJVHide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.

לֵ֣ב טָ֭הוֹר בְּרָא לִ֣י אֱלֹהִ֑ים וְר֥וּחַ נָ֝כ֗וֹן חַדֵּ֥שׁ בְּקִרְבִּֽי׃

KJVCreate in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

אַל תַּשְׁלִיכֵ֥נִי מִלְּפָנֶ֑יךָ וְר֥וּחַ קָ֝דְשְׁךָ֗ אַל תִּקַּ֥ח מִמֶּֽנִּי׃

KJVCast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me.

הָשִׁ֣יבָה לִּ֭י שְׂש֣וֹן יִשְׁעֶ֑ךָ וְר֥וּחַ נְ֝דִיבָ֗ה תִּסְמְכֵֽנִי׃

KJVRestore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.

אֲלַמְּדָ֣ה פֹ֭שְׁעִים דְּרָכֶ֑יךָ וְחַטָּאִ֥ים אֵ֝לֶ֗יךָ יָשֽׁוּבוּ׃

KJVThen will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you.

הַצִּילֵ֡נִי מִדָּמִ֗ים אֱֽלֹהִ֣ים אֱלֹהֵ֣י תְשׁוּעָתִ֑י תְּ֝רַנֵּ֗ן לְשׁוֹנִ֥י צִדְקָתֶֽךָ׃

KJVDeliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, O God of my salvation, and my tongue will sing aloud of your righteousness.

אֲדֹנָ֣י שְׂ֭פָתַי תִּפְתָּ֑ח וּ֝פִ֗י יַגִּ֥יד תְּהִלָּתֶֽךָ׃

KJVO Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.

O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.

17

כִּ֤י ׀ לֹא תַחְפֹּ֣ץ זֶ֭בַח וְאֶתֵּ֑נָה עוֹלָ֥ה לֹ֝א תִרְצֶֽה׃

KJVFor thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.

For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it; you will not be pleased with a burnt offering.

זִבְחֵ֣י אֱ֭לֹהִים ר֣וּחַ נִשְׁבָּרָ֑ה לֵב נִשְׁבָּ֥ר וְ֝נִדְכֶּ֗ה אֱלֹהִ֥ים לֹ֣א תִבְזֶֽה׃

KJVThe sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

הֵיטִ֣יבָה בִ֭רְצוֹנְךָ אֶת צִיּ֑וֹן תִּ֝בְנֶ֗ה חוֹמ֥וֹת יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃

KJVDo good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.

Do good to Zion in your good pleasure; build up the walls of Jerusalem;

אָ֤ז תַּחְפֹּ֡ץ זִבְחֵי צֶ֗דֶק עוֹלָ֣ה וְכָלִ֑יל אָ֘ז יַעֲל֥וּ עַ֝ל מִזְבַּחֲךָ֗ פָּרִֽים׃

KJVThen shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.

then will you delight in right sacrifices, in burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings; then bulls will be offered on your altar.
