לַמְנַצֵּ֗חַ מִזְמ֗וֹר לְדָוִֽד׃
KJVTo the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.
To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.

שְׁמַ֣ע אֱ֭לֹהִים קוֹלִ֣י בְשִׂיחִ֑י מִ֝פַּ֗חַד אוֹיֵ֥ב תִּצֹּ֣ר חַיָּֽי׃
KJVHear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; preserve my life from dread of the enemy.

תַּסְתִּירֵ֗נִי מִסּ֣וֹד מְ֭רֵעִים מֵרִגְשַׁ֥ת פֹּעֲלֵ֗י אָֽוֶן׃
KJVHide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:
Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, from the throng of evildoers,

אֲשֶׁ֤ר שָׁנְנ֣וּ כַחֶ֣רֶב לְשׁוֹנָ֑ם דָּ֝רְכ֗וּ חִצָּ֥ם דָּבָ֗ר מָֽר׃
KJVWho whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:
who whet their tongues like swords, who aim bitter words like arrows,

לִ֭ירוֹת בַּמִּסְתָּרִ֣ים תָּ֑מִים פִּתְאֹ֥ם יֹ֝רוּה֗וּ וְלֹ֣א יִירָֽאוּ׃
KJVThat they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.
shooting from ambush at the blameless, shooting at him suddenly and without fear.

יְחַזְּק֣וּ לָ֭מוֹ דָּבָ֣ר רָ֑ע יְסַפְּר֥וּ לִ֝טְמ֗וֹן מוֹקְשִׁ֥ים אָמְר֗וּ מִ֣י יִרְאֶה לָּֽמוֹ׃
KJVThey encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?
They hold fast to their evil purpose; they talk of laying snares secretly, thinking: Who can see them?

יַחְפְּשׂ֣וּ עוֹלֹ֣ת תַּמְנ֑וּ חֵ֤פֶשׂ מְחֻפָּ֗שׂ וְקֶ֥רֶב אִ֗ישׁ וְלֵ֥ב עָמֹֽק׃
KJVThey search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.
They search out injustice, saying: We have accomplished a diligent search. For the inward mind and heart of a man are deep.

וַיֹּרֵ֣ם אֱ֭לֹהִים חֵ֥ץ פִּתְאֹ֗ם הָי֥וּ מַכּוֹתָֽם׃
KJVBut God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.
But God shoots his arrow at them; they are wounded suddenly.

וַֽיַּכְשִׁיל֥וּהוּ עָלֵ֑ימוֹ לְ֝שׁוֹנָ֗ם וַֽיִּתְנֹדְד֗וּ כָּל רֹאֵ֥ה בָֽם׃
KJVSo they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.
They are brought to ruin, with their own tongues turned against them; all who see them will wag their heads.

וַיִּירְא֣וּ כָ֭ל אָדָ֑ם וַיַּגִּ֥ידוּ פֹּ֝עַ֗ל אֱלֹהִ֗ים וּֽמַעֲשֵׂ֥הוּ הִשְׂכִּֽילוּ׃
KJVAnd all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.
Then all mankind fears; they tell what God has brought about and ponder what he has done.

יִשְׂמַ֤ח צַדִּ֗יק בַּ֭יהוָה וְחָ֣סָה ב֑וֹ וְיִֽתְהַלְל֖וּ כָּל יִשְׁרֵי לֵֽב׃
KJVThe righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.
Let the righteous one rejoice in the LORD and take refuge in him! Let all the upright in heart exult!
