Acts 16:12

ἐκεῖθέν τε εἰς Φιλίππους, ἥτις ἐστὶν πρώτη τῆς μερίδος τῆς Μακεδονίας πόλις, κολωνεία· ἦμεν δὲ ἐν αὐτῇ τῇ πόλει διατρίβοντες ἡμέρας τινάς.
ekeithen te eis Philippoys, ētis estin prōtē tēs meridos tēs Makedonias polis, kolōneia· ēmen de en aytē tē polei diatribontes ēmeras tinas.

And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.

Modern English

From there we traveled to Philippi, a Roman colony and the leading city of that district of Macedonia. And we stayed there several days.
