Acts 17:18

Tines de kai tōn Epikoyreiōn kai tōn Stoikōn philosophōn syneballon aytō. Kai tines elegon, Ti an theloi o spermologos oytos legein; Oi de, Xenōn daimoniōn dokei kataggeleys einai· oti ton Iēsoyn kai tēn anastasin eyēggelizeto.
King James Version (KJV)

Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.

Modern English

A group of Epicurean and Stoic philosophers began to debate with him. Some of them asked, What is this babbler trying to say? Others remarked, He seems to be advocating foreign gods. They said this because Paul was preaching the good news about Jesus and the resurrection.
