Acts 22:28

Ἀπεκρίθη τε ὁ χιλίαρχος, Ἐγὼ πολλοῦ κεφαλαίου τὴν πολιτείαν ταύτην ἐκτησάμην. Ὁ δὲ Παῦλος ἔφη, Ἐγὼ δὲ καὶ γεγέννημαι.
Apekrithē te o chiliarchos, Egō polloy kephalaioy tēn politeian taytēn ektēsamēn. O de Paylos ephē, Egō de kai gegennēmai.

And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born.

Modern English

Then the commander said, I had to pay a lot of money for my citizenship. I was born a citizen, Paul replied.
