Acts 24:23

διαταξάμενός τε τῷ ἑκατοντάρχῃ τηρεῖσθαι τὸν Παῦλον, ἔχειν τε ἄνεσιν, καὶ μηδένα κωλύειν τῶν ἰδίων αὐτοῦ ὑπηρετεῖν ἢ προσέρχεσθαι αὐτῷ.
diataxamenos te tō ekatontarchē tēreisthai ton Paylon, echein te anesin, kai mēdena kōlyein tōn idiōn aytoy ypēretein ē proserchesthai aytō.
King James Version (KJV)

And he commanded a centurion to keep Paul, and to let him have liberty, and that he should forbid none of his acquaintance to minister or come unto him.

Modern English

He ordered the centurion to keep Paul under guard but to give him some freedom and permit his friends to take care of his needs.
