Acts 27:20

Μήτε δὲ ἡλίου μήτε ἄστρων ἐπιφαινόντων ἐπὶ πλείονας ἡμέρας, χειμῶνός τε οὐκ ὀλίγου ἐπικειμένου, λοιπὸν περιῃρεῖτο πᾶσα ἐλπὶς τοῦ σῴζεσθαι ἡμᾶς.
Mēte de ēlioy mēte astrōn epiphainontōn epi pleionas ēmeras, cheimōnos te oyk oligoy epikeimenoy, loipon periēreito pasa elpis toy sōzesthai ēmas.

And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.

Modern English

When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days and the storm continued raging, we finally gave up all hope of being saved.
