Acts · Πράξεις Ἀποστόλων

Acts 5:4

Oychi menon soi emenen, kai prathen en tē sē exoysia ypērchen; Ti oti ethoy en tē kardia soy to pragma toyto; Oyk epseysō anthrōpois, alla tō Theō.
King James Version (KJV)

Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

Modern English

Didn't it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn't the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.
