וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל מֹשֶׁה בֹּא אֶל פַּרְעֹה
KJVAnd the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him.
Then the LORD said to Moses, "Go in to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the heart of his servants, that I may show these signs of mine among them."

וּלְמַעַן תְּסַפֵּר בְּאָזְנֵי בִנְךָ וּבֶן בִּנְךָ
KJVAnd that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son's son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the LORD.
And that you may tell in the hearing of your son and of your grandson how I have dealt harshly with the Egyptians and what signs I have done among them, that you may know that I am the LORD.

וַיָּבֹא מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן אֶל פַּרְעֹה
KJVAnd Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.
So Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh and said to him, "Thus says the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, 'How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, that they may serve me.'"
4
כִּי אִם מָאֵן אַתָּה לְשַׁלַּח אֶת עַמִּי
KJVElse, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast.
For if you refuse to let my people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your country,
5
וְכִסָּה אֶת עֵין הָאָרֶץ
KJVAnd they shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field.
and they shall cover the face of the land, so that no one can see the land. And they shall eat what is left to you after the hail, and they shall eat every tree of yours that grows in the field.

וּמָלְאוּ בָתֶּיךָ וּבָתֵּי כָל עֲבָדֶיךָ
KJVAnd they shall fill thy houses, and the houses of all thy servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; which neither thy fathers, nor thy fathers' fathers have seen, since the day that they were upon the earth unto this day.
and your houses and the houses of all your servants and of all the Egyptians shall be filled with them."

וַיֹּאמְרוּ עַבְדֵי פַרְעֹה אֵלָיו
KJVAnd Pharaoh's servants said unto him, How long shall this man be a snare unto us? let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their God.
Then Pharaoh's servants said to him, "How long shall this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their God."

וַיּוּשַׁב אֶת מֹשֶׁה וְאֶת אַהֲרֹן
KJVAnd Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh: and he said unto them, Go, serve the LORD your God: but who are they that shall go?
So Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh. And he said to them, "Go, serve the LORD your God. But which ones are to go?"
9
וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה בִּנְעָרֵינוּ וּבִזְקֵנֵינוּ נֵלֵךְ
KJVAnd Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast unto the LORD.
Moses said, "We will go with our young and our old. We will go with our sons and daughters and with our flocks and herds, for we must hold a feast to the LORD."
10
וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵהֶם יְהִי כֵן יְהוָה עִמָּכֶם
KJVAnd he said unto them, Let the LORD be so with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones: look to it; for evil is before you.
But he said to them, "The LORD be with you, if ever I let you and your little ones go!"

לֹא כֵן לְכוּ נָא הַגְּבָרִים
KJVNot so: go now ye that are men, and serve the LORD; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.
No! Go, the men among you, and serve the LORD, for that is what you are asking." And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.

וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל מֹשֶׁה נְטֵה יָדְךָ עַל אֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם
KJVAnd the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail hath left.
Then the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, so that they may come upon the land of Egypt and eat every plant in the land."

וַיֵּט מֹשֶׁה אֶת מַטֵּהוּ עַל אֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם
KJVAnd Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
So Moses stretched out his staff over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day and all that night. When it was morning, the east wind had brought the locusts.

וַיַּעַל הָאַרְבֶּה עַל כָּל אֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם
KJVAnd the locust went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the coasts of Egypt: very grievous were they; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.
And the locusts came up over all the land of Egypt and settled on the whole country of Egypt, such a dense swarm of locusts as had never been before, nor ever will be again.

וַיְכַס אֶת עֵין כָּל הָאָרֶץ
KJVFor they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they did eat every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left: and there remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt.
They covered the face of the whole land, so that the land was darkened, and they ate all the plants in the land and all the fruit of the trees that the hail had left. Not a green thing remained.
16
וַיְמַהֵר פַּרְעֹה לִקְרֹא לְמֹשֶׁה וּלְאַהֲרֹן
KJVThen Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against the LORD your God, and against you.
Then Pharaoh hurriedly called Moses and Aaron and said, "I have sinned against the LORD your God, and against you."
17
וְעַתָּה שָׂא נָא חַטָּאתִי אַךְ הַפַּעַם
KJVNow therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and intreat the LORD your God, that he may take away from me this death only.
Now therefore, forgive my sin, please, only this once, and plead with the LORD your God only to remove this death from me.
18
וַיֵּצֵא מֵעִם פַּרְעֹה וַיֶּעְתַּר אֶל יְהוָה
KJVAnd he went out from Pharaoh, and intreated the LORD.
So he went out from Pharaoh and pleaded with the LORD.
19
וַיַּהֲפֹךְ יְהוָה רוּחַ יָם חָזָק מְאֹד
KJVAnd the LORD turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts, and cast them into the Red sea; there remained not one locust in all the coasts of Egypt.
And the LORD turned the wind into a very strong west wind, which lifted the locusts and drove them into the Red Sea. Not a single locust was left in all the country of Egypt.
20
וַיְחַזֵּק יְהוָה אֶת לֵב פַּרְעֹה
KJVBut the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go.
But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not let the people of Israel go.
21
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל מֹשֶׁה נְטֵה יָדְךָ עַל הַשָּׁמַיִם
KJVAnd the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.
Then the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, a darkness to be felt."
22
וַיֵּט מֹשֶׁה אֶת יָדוֹ עַל הַשָּׁמַיִם
KJVAnd Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days.
So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was pitch darkness in all the land of Egypt three days.
23
לֹא רָאוּ אִישׁ אֶת אָחִיו
KJVThey saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
They did not see one another, nor did anyone rise from his place for three days, but all the people of Israel had light where they lived.
24
וַיִּקְרָא פַרְעֹה אֶל מֹשֶׁה וַיֹּאמֶר
KJVAnd Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.
Then Pharaoh called Moses and said, "Go, serve the LORD; your little ones also may go with you; only let your flocks and your herds remain behind."
25
וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה גַּם אַתָּה תִּתֵּן בְּיָדֵנוּ זְבָחִים
KJVAnd Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God.
But Moses said, "You must also let us have sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God."
26
וְגַם מִקְנֵנוּ יֵלֵךְ עִמָּנוּ
KJVOur cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither.
Our livestock also must go with us; not a hoof shall be left behind, for we must take of them to serve the LORD our God, and we do not know with what we must serve the LORD until we arrive there.
27
וַיְחַזֵּק יְהוָה אֶת לֵב פַּרְעֹה
KJVBut the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let them go.
28
וַיֹּאמֶר לוֹ פַרְעֹה לֵךְ מֵעָלַי
KJVAnd Pharaoh said unto him, Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in that day thou seest my face thou shalt die.
Then Pharaoh said to him, "Get away from me; take care never to see my face again, for on the day you see my face you shall die."
29
וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה כֵּן דִּבַּרְתָּ
KJVAnd Moses said, Thou hast spoken well, I will see thy face again no more.
Moses said, "As you say! I will not see your face again."
