וַיֹּ֤אמֶר שָׁאוּל֙ לְנֹשֵׂ֣א כֵלָ֔יו שְׁלֹ֥ף חַרְבְּךָ֖ וְדָקְרֵ֣נִי בָ֑הּ פֶּֽן יָבֹ֞אוּ הָעֲרֵלִ֤ים הָאֵ֙לֶּה֙ וְהִתְעַלְּל֣וּ בִ֔י וְלֹ֥א אָבָ֛ה נֹשֵׂ֥א הַכֵּלִ֖ים כִּ֣י יָרֵ֣א מְאֹ֑ד וַיִּקַּ֤ח שָׁאוּל֙ אֶת הַחֶ֔רֶב וַיִּפֹּ֖ל עָלֶֽיהָ׃
Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.
Entonces Saúl dijo a su escudero: Saca tu espada y traspásame con ella, para que no vengan estos incircuncisos y me maltraten. Pero su escudero no quiso, porque tenía mucho miedo. Entonces Saúl tomó su propia espada y se echó sobre ella.
