וַיָּ֣קָם הַ֠מֶּלֶךְ דָּוִ֡יד עַל רַגְלָ֗יו וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ שִׁמְע֣וּנִי אַחַ֣י וְעַמִּ֔י אֲנִ֕י עִם לְבָבִ֖י לִבְנ֣וֹת בֵּ֣ית מְנוּחָ֑ה לַאֲר֣וֹן בְּרִ֣ית יְהוָ֗ה וְלַהֲד֛וֹם רַגְלֵ֥י אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ וַהֲכִינ֥וֹתִי לִבְנֽוֹת׃
Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building:
Entonces el rey David se puso de pie y dijo: Escúchenme, hermanos y pueblo mío. Yo tenía en mi corazón edificar una casa de reposo para el arca del pacto del SEÑOR y para el estrado de los pies de nuestro Dios, y he hecho los preparativos para edificarla.
