וְדִ֣י חֲזָ֣ה מַלְכָּ֡א עִ֣יר וְקַדִּ֡ישׁ נָחֵ֣ת מִן שְׁמַיָּ֡א וְאָמַ֣ר גֹּד֡וּ אִֽילָנָ֡א וְחַבְּל֡וּהִי בְּרַ֣ם עִקַּ֣ר שָׁרְשֹׁ֣והִי בְּאַרְעָ֣א שְׁבֻ֑קוּ וּבְאֶסּוּר֩ דִּ֨י פַרְזֶ֜ל וּנְחָ֗שׁ בְּדִתְאָ֣א דִ֣י בָרָ֗א וּבְטַ֣ל שְׁמַיָּ֡א יִצְטַבַּ֡ע וְעִם חֵיוַ֣ת בָּרָ֡א חֲלָ֡קֵהּ עַ֣ד דִּֽי שִׁבְעָ֣ה עִדָּנִ֣ין יַחְלְפ֣וּן עֲלֽוֹהִי׃
And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;
Y en cuanto a que el rey vio a un ángel, un ser santo, que descendía del cielo y decía: Cortad el árbol y destruidlo, pero dejad en tierra el tocón de sus raíces, atado con cadena de hierro y bronce, entre la hierba del campo, y sea mojado por el rocío del cielo, y su porción sea con las bestias del campo, hasta que pasen sobre él siete tiempos,
