יֵ֣שׁ אֶחָ֗ד וְאֵ֥ין שֵׁנִ֛י גַּ֥ם בֵּ֛ן וָאָ֖ח אֵ֣ין ל֑וֹ וְאֵ֥ין קֵ֛ץ לְכָל עֲמָל֖וֹ גַּ֤ם עֵינָיו֙ לֹא תִשְׂבַּ֣ע עֹ֔שֶׁר וּלְמִ֤י אֲנִי֙ עָמֵ֔ל וּמְחַסֵּ֥ר אֶת נַפְשִׁ֖י מִטּוֹבָ֑ה גַּם זֶ֥ה הֶ֛בֶל וְעִנְיַ֥ן רָ֖ע הֽוּא׃
There is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he hath neither child nor brother: yet is there no end of all his labour; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither saith he, For whom do I labour, and bereave my soul of good? This is also vanity, yea, it is a sore travail.
un hombre solo, sin nadie más, sin hijo ni hermano; aun así, no hay fin a todo su trabajo, y sus ojos nunca quedan satisfechos con las riquezas. Nunca se pregunta: "¿Para quién me estoy esforzando y privándome de placeres?" También esto es vanidad y una tarea ingrata.
