לֵ֣ךְ כְּנ֤וֹס אֶת כָּל הַיְּהוּדִים֙ הַנִּמְצְאִ֣ים בְּשׁוּשָׁ֔ן וְצ֣וּמוּ עָלַ֔י וְאַל תֹּאכְל֥וּ וְאַל תִּשְׁתּ֖וּ שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת יָמִ֑ים לַ֣יְלָה וָי֔וֹם גַּם אֲנִ֥י וְנַעֲרֹתַ֖י אָצ֣וּם כֵּ֑ן וּבְכֵ֨ן אָב֣וֹא אֶל הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹא כַדָּת֙ וְכַאֲשֶׁ֣ר אָבַ֔דְתִּי אָבָֽדְתִּי׃
Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.
«Ve y reúne a todos los judíos que se hallan en Susa, y ayunad por mí, y no comáis ni bebáis en tres días, noche y día; yo también con mis doncellas ayunaré igualmente, y entonces entraré al rey aunque no sea conforme a la ley; y si perezco, que perezca.»
