וַיָּ֣קָם עֶזְרָ֡א מִלִּפְנֵ֣י בֵ֣ית הָאֱלֹהִ֡ים וַיֵּ֡לֶךְ אֶל לִשְׁכַּ֣ת יֹוחָנָ֡ן בֶּן אֶלְיָשִׁ֡יב וַיֵּ֡לֶךְ שָׁ֡מָּה לֶ֡חֶם לֹ֡א אָכַ֡ל וּמַ֡יִם לֹ֡א שָׁתָ֡ה כִּ֡י מִתְאַבֵּ֡ל עַל מַ֣עַל הַגּוֹלָֽה׃
Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Johanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water: for he mourned because of the transgression of them that had been carried away.
Entonces Esdras se retiró de delante de la casa de Dios y fue a la cámara de Johanán hijo de Eliasib, donde pasó la noche, sin comer pan ni beber agua, porque estaba de duelo por la infidelidad de los exiliados.
