Τῷ δὲ Ἀβραὰμ ἐρρήθησαν αἱ ἐπαγγελίαι, καὶ τῷ σπέρματι αὐτοῦ. Οὐ λέγει, Καὶ τοῖς σπέρμασιν, ὡς ἐπὶ πολλῶν, ἀλλ' ὡς ἐφ' ἑνός, Καὶ τῷ σπέρματί σου, ὅς ἐστιν Χριστός.

Las promesas fueron hechas a Abraham y a su descendencia. La Escritura no dice «y a tus descendientes», como refiriéndose a muchos, sino «y a tu descendencia», refiriéndose a uno solo, que es Cristo.
