Σκιὰν γὰρ ἔχων ὁ νόμος τῶν μελλόντων ἀγαθῶν, οὐκ αὐτὴν τὴν εἰκόνα τῶν πραγμάτων, κατ' ἐνιαυτὸν ταῖς αὐταῖς θυσίαις ἃς προσφέρουσιν εἰς τὸ διηνεκές, οὐδέποτε δύνανται τοὺς προσερχομένους τελειῶσαι.
For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
La ley es solo una sombra de los bienes venideros, no la realidad misma. Por eso nunca puede, mediante los mismos sacrificios que se ofrecen año tras año sin cesar, hacer perfectos a los que se acercan a adorar.
