Acts 16:22

Καὶ συνεπέστη ὁ ὄχλος κατ' αὐτῶν, καὶ οἱ στρατηγοὶ περιρρήξαντες αὐτῶν τὰ ἱμάτια ἐκέλευον ῥαβδίζειν.

Kai synepestē o ochlos kat' aytōn, kai oi stratēgoi perirrēxantes aytōn ta imatia ekeleyon rabdizein.

And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.

The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten with rods.
