Acts 16:38

Ἀνήγγειλαν δὲ τοῖς στρατηγοῖς οἱ ῥαβδοῦχοι τὰ ῥήματα ταῦτα· καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν ἀκούσαντες ὅτι Ῥωμαῖοί εἰσιν,
Anēggeilan de tois stratēgois oi rabdoychoi ta rēmata tayta· kai ephobēthēsan akoysantes oti Rōmaioi eisin,

And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.

Modern English

The officers reported this to the magistrates, and when they heard that Paul and Silas were Roman citizens, they were alarmed.
