Acts 2:30

Προφήτης οὖν ὑπάρχων, καὶ εἰδὼς ὅτι ὅρκῳ ὤμοσεν αὐτῷ ὁ Θεός, ἐκ καρποῦ τῆς ὀσφύος αὐτοῦ τὸ κατὰ σάρκα ἀναστήσειν τὸν Χριστόν, καθίσαι ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου αὐτοῦ,
Prophētēs oyn yparchōn, kai eidōs oti orkō ōmosen aytō o Theos, ek karpoy tēs osphyos aytoy to kata sarka anastēsein ton Christon, kathisai epi toy thronoy aytoy,

Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

Modern English

But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne.
