וְאֵלֶּה תּוֹלְדֹת בְּנֵי נֹחַ שֵׁם חָם וָיָפֶת
KJVNow these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood.
These are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons were born to them after the flood.

בְּנֵי יֶפֶת גֹּמֶר וּמָגוֹג וּמָדַי וְיָוָן וְתֻבָל וּמֶשֶׁךְ וְתִירָס
KJVThe sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

וּבְנֵי גֹּמֶר אַשְׁכְּנַז וְרִיפַת וְתֹגַרְמָה
KJVAnd the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.

וּבְנֵי יָוָן אֱלִישָׁה וְתַרְשִׁישׁ כִּתִּים וְדֹדָנִים
KJVAnd the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

מֵאֵלֶּה נִפְרְדוּ אִיֵּי הַגּוֹיִם בְּאַרְצֹתָם
KJVBy these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.
From these the coastland peoples spread in their lands, each with his own language, by their clans, in their nations.

וּבְנֵי חָם כּוּשׁ וּמִצְרַיִם וּפוּט וּכְנָעַן
KJVAnd the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.
The sons of Ham: Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan.
7
וּבְנֵי כוּשׁ סְבָא וַחֲוִילָה וְסַבְתָּה וְרַעְמָה וְסַבְתְּכָא
KJVAnd the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtechah: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.
The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca.
8
וְכוּשׁ יָלַד אֶת נִמְרֹד הוּא הֵחֵל לִהְיוֹת גִּבֹּר בָּאָרֶץ
KJVAnd Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
Cush fathered Nimrod; he was the first on earth to be a mighty man.

הוּא הָיָה גִּבֹּר צַיִד לִפְנֵי יְהוָה
KJVHe was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.
He was a mighty hunter before the LORD. Therefore it is said, "Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the LORD."

וַתְּהִי רֵאשִׁית מַמְלַכְתּוֹ בָּבֶל וְאֶרֶךְ וְאַכַּד וְכַלְנֵה בְּאֶרֶץ שִׁנְעָר
KJVAnd the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
The beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

מִן הָאָרֶץ הַהִוא יָצָא אַשּׁוּר וַיִּבֶן אֶת נִינְוֵה
KJVOut of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,
From that land he went into Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah.

וְאֶת רֶסֶן בֵּין נִינְוֵה וּבֵין כָּלַח הִוא הָעִיר הַגְּדֹלָה
KJVAnd Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.
And Resen between Nineveh and Calah; that is the great city.
13
וּמִצְרַיִם יָלַד אֶת לוּדִים וְאֶת עֲנָמִים
KJVAnd Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,
Egypt fathered Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,
14
וְאֶת פַּתְרֻסִים וְאֶת כַּסְלֻחִים אֲשֶׁר יָצְאוּ מִשָּׁם פְּלִשְׁתִּים
KJVAnd Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.
Pathrusim, Casluhim (from whom the Philistines came), and Caphtorim.
15
וּכְנַעַן יָלַד אֶת צִידֹן בְּכֹרוֹ וְאֶת חֵת
KJVAnd Canaan begat Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,
Canaan fathered Sidon his firstborn and Heth.
16
וְאֶת הַיְבוּסִי וְאֶת הָאֱמֹרִי וְאֵת הַגִּרְגָּשִׁי
KJVAnd the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite,
And the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites.
17
וְאֶת הַחִוִּי וְאֶת הַעַרְקִי וְאֶת הַסִּינִי
KJVAnd the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,
The Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites.
18
וְאֶת הָאַרְוָדִי וְאֶת הַצְּמָרִי וְאֶת הַחֲמָתִי
KJVAnd the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad.
The Arvadites, the Zemarites, and the Hamathites. Afterward the clans of the Canaanites dispersed.
19
וַיְהִי גְּבוּל הַכְּנַעֲנִי מִצִּידֹן
KJVAnd the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.
And the territory of the Canaanites extended from Sidon in the direction of Gerar as far as Gaza, and in the direction of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.
20
אֵלֶּה בְנֵי חָם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם לִלְשֹׁנֹתָם
KJVThese are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.
These are the sons of Ham, by their clans, their languages, their lands, and their nations.
21
וּלְשֵׁם יֻלַּד גַּם הוּא אֲבִי כָּל בְּנֵי עֵבֶר
KJVUnto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.
To Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the elder brother of Japheth, children were born.
22
בְּנֵי שֵׁם עֵילָם וְאַשּׁוּר וְאַרְפַּכְשַׁד וְלוּד וַאֲרָם
KJVThe children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.
The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram.
23
וּבְנֵי אֲרָם עוּץ וְחוּל וְגֶתֶר וּמַשׁ
KJVAnd the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.
The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash.
24
וְאַרְפַּכְשַׁד יָלַד אֶת שָׁלַח וְשֶׁלַח יָלַד אֶת עֵבֶר
KJVAnd Arphaxad begat Salah; and Salah begat Eber.
Arpachshad fathered Shelah; and Shelah fathered Eber.
25
וּלְעֵבֶר יֻלַּד שְׁנֵי בָנִים שֵׁם הָאֶחָד פֶּלֶג
KJVAnd unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.
To Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided, and his brother's name was Joktan.

וְיָקְטָן יָלַד אֶת אַלְמוֹדָד וְאֶת שָׁלֶף
KJVAnd Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazar-maveth, and Jerah,
Joktan fathered Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah.

וְאֶת הֲדוֹרָם וְאֶת אוּזָל וְאֶת דִּקְלָה
KJVAnd Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,
Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah.
28
וְאֶת עוֹבָל וְאֶת אֲבִימָאֵל וְאֶת שְׁבָא
KJVAnd Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,
Obal, Abimael, Sheba.
29
וְאֶת אוֹפִר וְאֶת חֲוִילָה וְאֶת יוֹבָב
KJVAnd Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan.
Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab; all these were the sons of Joktan.
30
וַיְהִי מוֹשָׁבָם מִמֵּשָׁא
KJVAnd their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar a mount of the east.
The territory in which they lived extended from Mesha in the direction of Sephar to the hill country of the east.
31
אֵלֶּה בְנֵי שֵׁם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם לִלְשֹׁנֹתָם
KJVThese are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.
These are the sons of Shem, by their clans, their languages, their lands, and their nations.
32
אֵלֶּה מִשְׁפְּחֹת בְּנֵי נֹחַ לְתוֹלְדֹתָם בְּגוֹיֵהֶם
KJVThese are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.
These are the clans of the sons of Noah, according to their genealogies, in their nations, and from these the nations spread abroad on the earth after the flood.
