1 Maccabees 13:22

καὶ ἡτοίμασεν Τρύφων πᾶσαν τὴν ἵππον αὐτοῦ ἐλθεῖν, καὶ ἐν τῇ νυκτὶ ἐκείνῃ ἦν χιὼν πολλὴ σφόδρα, καὶ οὐκ ἦλθεν διὰ τὴν χιόνα. καὶ ἀπῆρεν καὶ ἦλθεν εἰς τὴν Γαλααδῖτιν.
King James Version (KJV)

Wherefore Tryphon made ready all his horsemen to come that night: but there fell a very great snow, by reason whereof he came not. So he departed, and came into the country of Galaad.

Modern English

So Trypho prepared all his cavalry to come that night, but a heavy snowfall prevented him, so he withdrew and went into the region of Gilead.
