1 Maccabees 3:29

καὶ εἶδεν ὅτι ἐξέλιπεν τὸ ἀργύριον ἐκ τῶν θησαυρῶν καὶ οἱ φόροι τῆς χώρας ὀλίγοι χάριν τῆς διχοστασίας καὶ πληγῆς, ἧς κατεσκεύασεν ἐν τῇ γῇ τοῦ ἆραι τὰ νόμιμα, ἃ ἦσαν ἀφ’ ἡμερῶν τῶν πρώτων,

Nevertheless, when he saw that the money of his treasures failed, and that the tributes in the country were small, because of the dissension and plague, which he had brought upon the land in taking away the laws which had been of old time;

But when he saw that his treasury was running low and that tribute from the provinces had shrunk, because of the unrest and disaster he had caused by abolishing the ancient laws,
