2 Maccabees 12:43

ποιησάμενός τε κατ’ ἀνδρολογίαν εἰς ἀργυρίου δραχμὰς δισχιλίας ἀπέστειλεν εἰς Ιεροσόλυμα προσαγαγεῖν περὶ ἁμαρτίας θυσίαν πάνυ καλῶς καὶ ἀστείως πράττων ὑπὲρ ἀναστάσεως διαλογιζόμενος·

And when he had made a gathering throughout the company to the sum of two thousand drachms of silver, he sent it to Jerusalem to offer a sin offering, doing therein very well and honestly, in that he was mindful of the resurrection:

He then took up a collection among his men amounting to two thousand silver drachmas and sent it to Jerusalem to provide a sin offering — a fine and noble action, reflecting his belief in the resurrection.
