2 Maccabees

2 Maccabees 4:2

καὶ τὸν εὐεργέτην τῆς πόλεως καὶ τὸν κηδεμόνα τῶν ὁμοεθνῶν καὶ ζηλωτὴν τῶν νόμων ἐπίβουλον τῶν πραγμάτων ἐτόλμα λέγειν.
King James Version (KJV)

Thus was he bold to call him a traitor, that had deserved well of the city, and tendered his own nation, and was so zealous of the laws.

Modern English

He had the nerve to call a traitor the very man who had served the city well, cared for his own nation, and was zealous for the law.
