Now when many sacrileges had been committed in the city by Lysimachus with the consent of Menelaus, and the bruit thereof was spread abroad, the multitude gathered themselves together against Lysimachus, many vessels of gold being already carried away.
Meanwhile, after Lysimachus, with Menelaus's approval, had committed many acts of temple robbery in the city, and word of it spread, the people rose up against Lysimachus, since a great deal of gold vessels had already been carried off.
