Letter of Jeremiah

Letter of Jeremiah 1:71

King James Version (KJV)

And likewise their gods of wood, and laid over with silver and gold, are like to a white thorn in an orchard, that every bird sitteth upon; as also to a dead body, that is cast into the dark.

Modern English

Likewise, these gods of wood overlaid with silver and gold are like a whitethorn bush in an orchard that any bird will perch on, or like a corpse thrown out into the darkness.
