My son, meddle not with many matters: for if thou meddle much, thou shalt not be innocent; and if thou follow after, thou shalt not obtain, neither shalt thou escape by fleeing.
My son, do not busy yourself with too many things, for if you take on too much you will not stay innocent; and if you chase after everything, you will not catch it, nor will running away help you escape.
