πλούσιος σαλευόμενος στηρίζεται ὑπὸ φίλων, ταπεινὸς δὲ πεσὼν προσαπωθεῖται ὑπὸ φίλων.
King James Version (KJV)

A rich man beginning to fall is held up of his friends: but a poor man being down is thrust also away by his friends.

Modern English

When a rich man starts to fall, his friends hold him up; but when a poor man falls, even his friends push him away.
