Sirach (Ecclesiasticus) 19:21

οἰκέτης λέγων τῷ δεσπότῃ· ὡς ἀρέσκει οὐ ποιήσω, ἐὰν μετὰ ταῦτα ποιήσῃ, παροργίζει τὸν τρέφοντα αὐτόν].
King James Version (KJV)

If a servant say to his master, I will not do as it pleaseth thee; though afterward he do it, he angereth him that nourisheth him.

Modern English

If a servant tells his master, "I will not do as you wish," even if he later does it, he has already angered the one who provides for him.
