Sirach (Ecclesiasticus) 19:27

συγκύφων πρόσωπον καὶ ἑτεροκωφῶν, ὅπου οὐκ ἐπεγνώσθη, προφθάσει σε·

Casting down his countenance, and making as if he heard not: where he is not known, he will do thee a mischief before thou be aware.

Modern English

lowering his eyes and pretending not to hear — where he is unknown, he will do you harm before you notice.
