Sirach (Ecclesiasticus)

Sirach (Ecclesiasticus) 36:26

King James Version (KJV)

Who will trust a thief well appointed, that skippeth from city to city? so [who will believe] a man that hath no house, and lodgeth wheresoever the night taketh him?

Modern English

For who will trust a well-prepared thief who slips from city to city? Just so, who will trust a man with no home, who lodges wherever nightfall finds him?
