Sirach (Ecclesiasticus)

Sirach (Ecclesiasticus) 41:4

King James Version (KJV)

And why art thou against the pleasure of the most High? there is no inquisition in the grave, whether thou have lived ten, or an hundred, or a thousand years.

Modern English

Why then resist the will of the Most High? Whether you have lived ten years, a hundred, or a thousand, there is no accounting for life in the grave.
