Sirach (Ecclesiasticus)

Sirach (Ecclesiasticus) 44:17

King James Version (KJV)

Noah was found perfect and righteous; in the time of wrath he was taken in exchange [for the world;] therefore was he left as a remnant unto the earth, when the flood came.

Modern English

Noah was found blameless and righteous; in the time of wrath he became the one exchanged for the world's survival — so he was left as a remnant on the earth when the flood came.
