Sirach (Ecclesiasticus)

Sirach (Ecclesiasticus) 46:7

King James Version (KJV)

In the time of Moses also he did a work of mercy, he and Caleb the son of Jephunne, in that they withstood the congregation, and withheld the people from sin, and appeased the wicked murmuring.

Modern English

In the days of Moses, too, he showed loyalty — he and Caleb son of Jephunneh — by standing against the assembly, keeping the people from sin, and quieting their wicked complaints.
