Sirach (Ecclesiasticus)

Sirach (Ecclesiasticus) 5:6

King James Version (KJV)

And say not His mercy is great; he will be pacified for the multitude of my sins: for mercy and wrath come from him, and his indignation resteth upon sinners.

Modern English

Do not say, His mercy is great, he will forgive the multitude of my sins, for both mercy and wrath belong to him, and his anger rests on sinners.
