Tobit

Tobit 14:10

King James Version (KJV)

And bury me decently, and thy mother with me; but tarry no longer at Nineve. Remember, my son, how Aman handled Achiacharus that brought him up, how out of light he brought him into darkness, and how he rewarded him again: yet Achiacharus was saved, but the other had his reward: for he went down into darkness. Manasses gave alms, and escaped the snares of death which they had set for him: but Aman fell into the snare, and perished.

Modern English

Bury me properly, and your mother with me, but do not stay any longer in Nineveh. Remember, my son, how Haman treated Ahikar, the man who raised him — how he turned him from light into darkness, and how he repaid him for it; yet Ahikar was saved, while Haman fell into the very trap he had set — he went down into darkness. Manasseh gave to the poor and escaped the deadly trap set for him, but Haman fell into it and perished.
