Wisdom of Solomon 5:11

ἢ ὡς ὀρνέου διαπτάντος ἀέρα οὐθὲν εὑρίσκεται τεκμήριον πορείας, πληγῇ δὲ ταρσῶν μαστιζόμενον πνεῦμα κοῦφον καὶ σχιζόμενον βίᾳ ῥοίζου, κινουμένων πτερύγων διωδεύθη, καὶ μετὰ τοῦτο οὐχ εὑρέθη σημεῖον ἐπιβάσεως ἐν αὐτῷ·

Or as when a bird hath flown through the air, there is no token of her way to be found, but the light air being beaten with the stroke of her wings, and parted with the violent noise and motion of them, is passed through, and therein afterwards no sign where she went is to be found;

Modern English

or like a bird flying through the air, leaving no evidence of its passage; the light air is struck by the beat of its wings and parted by their rush and motion, and afterward no sign remains of where it flew,
