וַיֵּצֵ֣א דָוִ֣יד לִפְנֵיהֶ֗ם וַיַּ֨עַן וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לָהֶם֙ אִם לְשָׁל֞וֹם בָּאתֶ֤ם אֵלַי֙ לְעָזְרֵ֔נִי יִֽהְיֶה לִּ֧י עֲלֵיכֶ֛ם לֵבָ֖ב לְיָחַ֑ד וְאִ֤ם לְרַמּוֹתַ֙נִי֙ לְצָרַ֔י בְּלֹ֥א חָמָ֖ס בְּכַפַּ֑י יֵ֧רֶא אֱלֹהֵ֛י אֲבוֹתֵ֖ינוּ וְיוֹכַֽח׃
And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if ye be come to betray me to mine enemies, seeing there is no wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.
David salió a recibirlos y les dijo: Si habéis venido a mí en paz para ayudarme, mi corazón estará unido con vosotros; pero si es para traicionarme ante mis adversarios, aunque no haya maldad en mis manos, que el Dios de nuestros padres lo vea y os reprenda.
