וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח הָאֱלֹהִ֜ים מַלְאָ֣ךְ לִ֠ירוּשָׁלַ͏ִם לְהַשְׁחִיתָ֗הּ וּכְהַשְׁחִית֙ רָאָ֣ה יְהוָ֔ה וַיִּנָּחֶ֕ם עַל הָרָעָ֖ה וַיֹּ֗אמֶר לַמַּלְאָ֛ךְ הַמַּשְׁחִ֖ית רַ֑ב עַתָּה֙ הֶ֣רֶף יָדֶ֔ךָ וּמַלְאַ֣ךְ יְהוָ֔ה עֹמֵ֖ד עִ֖ם גֹּ֥רֶן אָרְנָ֖ן הַיְבוּסִֽי׃
And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it: and as he was destroying, the LORD beheld, and he repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed, It is enough, stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD stood by the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.
Y Dios envió el ángel a Jerusalén para destruirla, pero cuando estaba a punto de destruirla, el SEÑOR lo vio y se arrepintió de la calamidad. Y dijo al ángel que destruía: Basta ya; detén tu mano. Y el ángel del SEÑOR estaba parado junto a la era de Ornán el jebuseo.
