וַיְהִ֨י אֹמֵ֜ן אֶת הֲדַסָּ֗ה הִ֤יא אֶסְתֵּר֙ בַּת דֹּד֔וֹ כִּ֛י אֵ֥ין לָ֖הּ אָ֣ב וָאֵ֑ם וְהַנַּעֲרָ֤ה יְפַת תֹּ֙אַר֙ וְטוֹבַ֣ת מַרְאֶ֔ה וּבְמ֛וֹת אָבִ֥יהָ וְאִמָּ֖הּ לְקָחָ֥הּ מָרְדֳּכַ֛י ל֖וֹ לְבַֽת׃
And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle's daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter.
Este criaba a Hadasa, es decir, Ester, hija de su tío, porque no tenía padre ni madre. La joven tenía bella figura y hermoso semblante; y cuando murieron su padre y su madre, Mardoqueo la adoptó como hija.
